It's possible to develop an allergy anytime. About 10% of people are allergic to PG or VG. Some find either one an irritant - that's the case for me and VG.

Try some unflavored pg nic and some unflavored vg nic. If either causes a reaction you'll know what it is. If neither one does, try adding some flavoring. It could be VG, PG, or Flavoring that's the culprit.

Edit: A member reported developing a reaction to banana flavoring.

I've been vaping for more then a year now, but for the last months I've had an allergic reaction.
I'm not 100% sure it's from vaping, but it seems like the most logical cause.

Is it possible to vape for a year without an problems, but develop to allergy to PG over time?

What are your symptoms? I currently have a loose cough I cant seem to shake. Vaping seems to make it worse but I hate to admit it! I hope it's just seasonal allergies I always seem to get this time of year.

I bought some cheap juice ($13/30ml) from a local head shop and it congested my chest pretty bad. It made me cough my head off too. I thought I had a chest cold or something. I switched to a different brand and have been fine ever since. Just something to consider.

Anything is possible. I've known people to develop a gluten allergy late in life. Strange but it happens. On the other side of the coin when I went from smoking to vaping my psoriasis cleared up completely. Your body is a wonderland. It reacts to everything introduced to it. I hope for your sake that vaping is NOT the cause. If it is PG, then a switch to 100% VG might make all the difference. Now for you it seems like a game of wait and see. Drop the PG for VG and see if that helps. Process of elimination. 100% VG may be harder on your equipment, but it sure as hell beats smoking. Good luck!

100% VG does not have to be harder on the gear. You can thin it with a couple of drops of distilled water which will improve the wicking.

I'll try that. Thanks for the tip.

OP, since you mix your own juices, is it possible a newer flavoring agent may be the culprit here? You just never know.
