I'm looking for answers from anyone that has experienced an allergic reaction to either PG or VG or both. How long did it take to notice any reaction? Also, how long did it take to subside? I'm curious because I have been dealing with the problem myself but have taken numerous breaks from vaping and symptoms will still remain 2-3 days after my last vaping session. Has PG or VG been known to take that long to leave the body?

I'm sensitive to PG. I read the half life of PG in a healthy person is maybe 3 hours or so. However, the issues it causes with a sensitive person can last awhile. For me, personally, some of the symptoms start to go away immediately, while others, such as mouth ulcers continue to get worse for a couple of days and take 10 days or so to clear up. Nose bleeds, gum bleeds, rash are usually gone in a day or two.

I have had a horrible reaction to pg, bleeding gums, depression, and some other symptoms. Anything over 20% pg will bring back one of those reactions. So I only use the pg that comes in the flavors and all vg. The symptoms go away within a day. Read the thread on Health and Medical issues in this forum and they cover most if not all of the reactions you can have.

I've started to make my own liquid and dilute the vg @ about 15% distilled water. It's thin enough to wick well with anything you use.

Good luck!

I get allergenic pinkeye when I touch my eye after getting some e-liquid on my fingers, so I keep a couple boxes of Curad alcohol prep pads on my e-cig "station". They're used after every carto refill to get the gunk from my lips off and to sanitize my fingers.

Glad you made that suggestion. I'm gonna start doing that myself.

Since you've had your problem for a few weeks now what has your doctors diagnosis been of your problem? When a problem persist its always best to seek medical help to answer your questions. :)

Sorry for the late response. I did see an allergist and they determined it was a case of dermatographism. It makes sense since the only outbreaks I get are after I scratch my skin. Also, I don't have reactions in or around my mouth during or after vaping. It seems to come and go randomly.

A little late but itchy skin could be a sign of dehydration from vaping. The PG and VG are hygroscopic meaning they trap the moisture in our nasal, throat and mouth area and thus the vapor. I drink at least 2 liters of water per day.

That is very good to know! I've been drinking water lately and it has subsided. Then I stopped drinking for a day and it came back...gotta go drink some more water.
