"Vegetable glycerin derived from coconut and palm oil causes reactions in individuals who are allergic to these substances or their byproducts. Some vegetable glycerin products contain preservatives that are added to extend their shelf lives. Sulfite preservatives (compounds of oxygen and sulfur in combination with sodium sulfite or potassium sulfite) are popularly used to maintain the freshness of vegetable glycerin products, including soaps, shampoos and lotions. They produce asthma-like allergic reactions in allergy-prone individuals, the symptoms of which include:
itching
nausea
dizziness
........
shortness of breath
hives

"Natural vegetable glycerin, which comprises the active ingredient in many skin care products—including soaps, lotions and face-washes—also causes skin irritation in some users.

"...vegetable glycerin can cause irritation to mucous membranes."

thank you for that MLEJ, I get mine from Nude Nicotine and feel it is the best on the market. I do not have allergies but have almost constant congestion and a productive cough. A long time ago I read many that had the allergy and they spoke of it but it did not pertain to me at the times so I do not remember what was said about it.

If I go too heavy on VG, I get a "Yuk" feeling. Can't really describe it other than "Not feeling very well."

I bought a bunch of Johnson Creek stuff back in 2011, because I really liked some of the flavors, but figured out within a month that maybe they weren't working for me. I was pretty bummed out.

I use 30-40% VG still, and that seems to be okay. Anything higher though and the "Yuk" comes in. I order all nic in 100% PG, then mix the VG in with each batch.

I'm the same way. Too much VG and I get a really heavy feeling in my chest and have breathing difficulties. I vape about 60 PG/40 VG and that seems to work for me.

I used to be about 80/20, but then got hooked on NLV, all of which was mixed at 35%. I found that I really liked it around there, and have been doing the same ever since.

I'll miss them forever.

Interesting. I do not get a "yuk" feeling but I have this congestion, in my chest. My DR has treated me with antibiotics and steroids, thinking I had a case of bronchitis, and it does not go away. Not sure I can handle 60PG though. I use 70VG now. Maybe I can mix something at 50/50 and see if it makes things better

DP, I would be interested in knowing if you vape MTL or DL?
Can I even vape DL if I go to 60PG?

I'm still 100% MTL, CV. DL wasn't a thing back then and once I found what worked for me, I've stuck with it ever since. The vape world spun at light speed, and I was off in a distance, just vapin' away (OLD school!) & watchin' it play out. ;) It WAS fun to watch - that's for sure.

You've been around as long as I have, so we all know enough to introduce change slowly. Small percentage changes, if you go that route.

I don't like the sound of what you're going through though. I wouldn't THINK your vape is causing it, but I'm FAR from a doctor. Could it be related to a COVID incident you had? The Prednisone didn't clear it? That's what concerns me. I'm guessing they ran a battery of tests too. :\

LOL. I resisted moving into the direct lung arena for a long time and then finally just did. Probably about 8 years ago.
I have not had Covid. I am high risk if I get it so I try hard not to get it. I have had 2 bouts of lung cancer and both were caught in the first stage so surgery was possible. I had a small piece of lung removed from each side. My pulmonologist saw me 3-4 times over the course of the antibiotic/steroid treatment. I was sent for an x-ray then and nothing showed. My Thoracic surgeon sends me for a CT scan every six months for lung cancer and my last scan was just at the end of January. The scan was normal. Both DRs know I vape and both do not approve

I vape DL, but only at 30 watts. I remember when I first started vaping way back when that most juice was much higher PG. 80/20 seemed pretty common. When they started going to high VG, I had problems. So I make my own juice at 60/40 level. You probably couldn't find a commercial juice with that much PG in it these days.

Ouch, CV. I'm VERY sorry to hear that and my thoughts are very much with you.

I'm not surprised they don't approve, but it's understandable that they'd not green-light vaping (for liability concerns). Given the situation though, I certainly can't blame you for vaping. I know me well enough to know that I'd do the same.

Are you MTL'ing at all? I'm wondering if it makes any difference ("throwing darts" here, for lack of a better term).

No I am not. I am DL. I know the smartest thing to do would be to give it up altogether but I am a slave to nicotine. lol.
I just ordered a bunch of OXVA Pod devices. I make my own juice and about a year ago got tired of all the fuss of mixing and chose two recipes I like a lot. It would not be hard to make those two recipes in a different % value to use with the new Pods. This shall be my goal. Starting with 60PG and trying to enjoy MTL again. I loved vaping that way for years and can do it again

I get you and am the same. Most of my family has dropped down to 3-6mg but I'm swimming along still at 15mg here, same as I was back in '11-12.

I hope you find something that gives you relief, that being the most important part of all this, for SURE.

DP, I started at 24mgs in 2012 and quickly went to 18 and within a year to 12 because I chain vape. Stayed at 12 for quite some time. Later I went to 6, along with sub-ohm style vaping. I have dropped to 3 before and even to 1.5 in hopes of quitting nic altogether. I quickly went back to 6, and stayed there resigning myself that I would just be nic addicted forever. lol.
I will probably go to 12 again since I will not be getting any of those 'blow your damn hair back' vapes of the sub-ohm world. lol

Yeah I know exactly what you mean as I seem to be a slave to it as well....... I am also a DL vaper most of the time but I also do MTL every once in a while....

As for the VG issue, I can't really say whether it bothers me or not...... I am not exactly the font of health and so even if it was affecting me I probably wouldn't notice LOL.... I vape very high VG and I mix my juice as high as possible with VG (75 to 80%)......The only time I notice that my lungs/chest start to feel strange is if I am using a high nicotine level while operating at a higher wattage and producing lots of vapor.... If say I am operating at 50 watts and using 8 or 10MG of nicotine then I will get a strange lung feeling. If I then reduce the nic to around 3 or 4 MG then it does not do that...... Also, when I do MTL I can vape at 12MG or so and I don't get that weird sensation but I will in DL mode if using 12MG........... So what I do is I have various bottles of juice with varying nic levels.... I use the 12MG juice for when I do MTL and I use 4MG when I do DL.........

I would go crazy trying to remember which bottle to add to which device and how high I could crank the watts. lol. I do not think nic is my problem. I am pretty convinced it is VG. when I first wake up in the morning the coughing is minimal. As the day wears on and I have vaped it gets worse. By nighttime it is bad.
