Hello,
I've always thought I might be slightly allergic to vaping. Sometimes I go a bit red when I vape a lot. Not an issue for me but on the weekend we did a lot of gardening in the sun, I don't drink much water as is, but I thought someone might be able to tell me if they have heard of the following.

I've basicly broken out in a red raised spots across the chest, face and a slightly bit on my arm. I cant tell if it's heat rash or if it's vaping, or if it's a mix of the two. I've never had anything like this before but thought I'd ask if that's what vaping allergy look like. It doesn't itch at all.

Oh I use menthol burst, in a ce3, a full CE3 or so a day, times more.

Cheers for any advise,
Ritzo

Edit: I should probably mention, I live in the tropics and it's been a hot weekend.

I broke out like this the first couple weeks of vaping actually and as a woman having a rash on the girls is totally not acceptable, what are you vaping pure pg or a pg vg mix? I'm a pretty heavy vaper i had started with a pg vg mix and ended up having to go more to a pg mix so yes it could be an allergy or just a sensativity .. I talked with my doctor about it ... with a little experimentation of percentages i found what worked for me and once it cleared up I've been vaping happily ever after

Okay, I have to say this: I am not a doctor although I am good looking enough to play one on television. I'm sorry to hear of your rash.

I have no idea what your rash is from. I think I am going to suggest that you post on the main forum so that you can get a wider range of opinions. It is my understanding that human beings can be allergic or sensitive to almost anything:) The two most likely culprits are the flavoring and the pg although I have seen people say they are sensitive to vg as well.

A big question is, are you running a fever? Also, have you tried Benydryl [an anti histamine]?

Thanks for the replies. Can I confirm that the standard reaction is a non itchy rash across the body? Is it a dry or oily rash. Probably getting way into this but I'm curious. I'm seeing a doctor tomorrow but I think that it will be a waste of time as the doctors here have mostly never heard of vaping in Australia.

I've heard of people getting hives just from quitting smoking Also from vaping. Generally, these are not the type of allergic reactions that send you to the hospital. Most doctors believe that isolating what allergy you might have [from what I have read] is not worth the effort as far as skin testing and such goes. What you can do is eliminate one thing at a time. You can get a non-menthol juice. You can get juice with less pg and/or less vg and try it.

I have no idea what kind of plants you have in Australia. Could you have gotten into something resembling poison oak or ivy?

I am very allergic to cats but I do not get hives. I get big bumps on my scalp that go away after awhile and I also get incredibly watery eyes and I can get very itchy.

The turning red thing could be you are getting a bit too much nicotine? I don't know what strength you are vaping. Definitely try to drink plenty of fluids. When you first start vaping it is very dehydrating.

Not sure if the rash is related to vaping but it is entirely possible. Here's a link to a page on the ECF that lists a lot of the reported side effects related to vaping and quitting analogs that I think everyone should read. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/health-safety-e-smoking/3305-list-symptoms-when-quitting-tobacco-changing-ecigarette.html Hope it clears up soon.
