I've also been using RTD Vapor for batteries for years. I've also ordered once from IMR batteries when RTD was out-of-stock of a particular battery that I wanted.

For tanks and replacement coil heads, its either My Vapor Store or fast tech, depending upon how fast I need them. I've purchased RDA's from Eciggity. I get my RBA wire from RTD Vapor. RBA tools from fast tech. My sister has connections to the beauty supply industry and can get me Rayon for my RBA's.

That is precisely why I didn't specify my place of business and promote us. I'm hear to learn and pass on the knowledge I have gained working here for the last three years, most especially battery safety and ways to avoid fakes by buying from places such as Amazon.

No not at the moment, more so curious where everyone gets them from. I'd definitely advise against buying on amazon, A LOT of fakes are sold on amazon.

Amazon is fine if you are careful. I have bought a lot of batteries there and I have not bought any fakes yet.

I buy Samsung 25Rs from Amazon and I have not ran into any fakes yet, either. I suppose it helps if you know exactly what you're looking for.

The rest of my supplies I mostly buy from VaporBeast. Sometimes MadVapes (if they have anything I want in stock! lol). I order most of my juice from The Vape Mall or Stoopid E-Juice. I recently ordered some juice from Umba Vapes, and I'm unsure if I will order from them again. While I appreciate the rare flavors, I'm really hating the fact I can't order extra flavor in the bottles, and the flavor they add is pretty weak for me.

Yeah with my expertise I know very well what the fakes look like. I keep a constant watch on our incoming shipments for even the slightest bit of differential in batteries. You just never know when someone is trying to pull a fast one on you with these things.

I will have to check out some of those juice places though, I'm stuck on kilo eliquids from eliquids.com. It allows me to buy all the flavors I know I enjoy at one place without taking that chance that I'll buy a juice I don't like. I prefer to buy everything directly from the people who make it rather than risking getting a fraud, It kills me seeing people buying fake atomizers and mods.

Clones have their place in the vaping industry as they do in most every industry. I think we forget the risk a low income person takes when investing money in trying vaping. They are spending their smoking money on a maybe. Clones are also a good way to try new products to decide if you want to invest in a sometimes expensive original.

Clones do have their place in the vaping world and the occasional can turn out better than the original.

My preference is kind of mid-range equipment that I can actually afford, that is great. I feel particularly "gifted" in some of the newer MTL RTAs, secure that I can buy several that I like, without worrying too much about the cost. I will say, although I've never vaped an original, most prime Kayfuns... I'm glad I tried a clone first, since they are not my bag. Although, they do seem to hold their value and etc., so could always be sold. But, I do think they have a place in the vaping world, honestly more with tanks than anything. I think it may be easier to "clone" a tank successfully than a mod, but what do I know.

I really only take issue with inauthentic batteries, due to safety issues, ultimately the market place will do what it does, and I will make my choices accordingly. Is it "fair?" IDK ,I just know that I try to buy authentic unless I am "testing" something ungodly expensive and/or the clone is reported to be equal to (or sometimes superior to) the original.

I also don't buy $700 custom mods.

With all that said, everyone should vape how they want, IMO. Including buying a $700 mod if that is your thing and will make you happy, etc.

No "clone wars" for me...

To me, when it comes to e-Cigarette Hardware, the Line is Drawn if the Buyer knows that the item He/She is buying is an Original or if it is a Clone.

Selling a Clone under the guise that it is an Original is Fraud. But if the Seller clearly designates an Item as not being Original, well then caveat emptor implies.

There is Also a somewhat Blurring Line between what exactly is a "Clone"? OEM's may enter into agreements with 2nd and 3rd Parties to use/produce their designs. And or may make their own "Clones".

But to be clear, There is No Place for in our Market for Sub-Quality Batteries to be sold as Higher Quality Batteries under another name and corresponding specifications.

The problem with clones are the protection circuits that go into them. A mod may be designed to say protect you from it shorting and causing the battery to blow up in your face and when you're dealing with Chinese clones they aren't always using the same quality materials, therefore increasing the chances of that and various other bad things from happening. Now of course many companies outsource for faster production but that doesn't always mean it is safe.

For batteries there is no reason anyone should consider using a fake battery or one they don't know the true specifications on. We test a certain percentage of all of our batteries for the chance that a company may slip fakes in the mix of boxes. Much better to be thorough and safe than let someone get their hands on those things.

Recently came across a supplier that was rewrapping LG SONY and SAMSUNG batteries and claiming they were authentic brand batteries. The second I opened the box I could clearly tell they were rewrapped batteries, the colors were different on every single cell. Not to mention that the Sony VTC5As we received had legit fake date codes. Completely Nonexistent date codes, from a company that has been on the market for over ten years. It blew my mind that a company with such a high reputation would try and sell fakes to anyone, let a lone someone they KNEW was going to check them not only for authenticity but for quality.

Out of curiosity, was that supplier one of the "trusted" vendors that we and Mooch typically recommend to those on ECF? A yes or no answer would be sufficient.

What was your company's reaction upon receipt of the batteries, and what was the supplier's reaction?

My reaction was to throw them in the garbage lol But we have to recycle them of course.
It was a test buy from the company to check authenticity, which obviously they failed at that.

Yep, Amazon is not a good place to buy due to the amount of fakes and the same goes for eBay. The only exception to eBay is if you know the specific Vendor.

Where do I buy? I only get my batteries from

I would not (knowingly) buy a cloned mod for the very reason you stated. Nor would I buy batteries anywhere but from a reputable supplier (I trust Mooch, and I use IMRbatteries.com).

A tank... Well, it might leak. It might have machine oil to get cleaned off. It might not work. Hopefully it won't kill me. Clones, I usually try to buy in stainless steel but the fact is, we don't really know exactly what metals are used unless buying that $700 custom mod/tank whatever.

I minimize my risk to the best of my ability and financial status. That's about all I can say. If I never tried a clone tank, though, I think I would have missed out on deciding to buy a couple nice originals. And then there were the few "high cost" things that I was willing to buy, more than once, because I loved them so much, and etc.

For me personally a Cloned mod No I would never, Cloned tank I would possibly consider, cloned Atomizers definitely not. Of course we as consumers truly never know what the products are made of, especially when such a high majority are manufactured in China. But that is a risk that is unavoidable pertaining to most the materials anyway and even more sadly authenticity codes can be duplicated. Just not something I would take a risk on. But hey to each is their own.

With batteries I will always chose my place of business knowing full well that my boss and I are the ones that do all of the testing. And believe me some of the quality in fake batteries is almost IMPOSSIBLE to tell with the naked eye and without the proper equipment to test them you can never be sure. But that's why we(as consumers) trust the places we buy batteries from so much and people like mooch who thoroughly test batteries.
