So i decide to get some spare atty's (510) from TW. I figured that the original two from cignot would not last. Now five week later both atty's from cignot are stellar. And from TW? Four out of five don't work hardly at all! Passthru or battery. I don't even want to open the fifth one. It just sits in my PCC. Not happy.

Anyone else have this trouble?

Beer Man, I know nothing about 510s in particular, but atomizers in general can be slow to "wake up" sometimes. The last TW 901 style (really an RN4075) atomizer that I started was a real disappointment too, at first. But then it began working wonderfully, and is amazingly still good after more than a month now. You may have that same experience if you keep trying. Anyway, I hope that's all it is, for your sake.

If they're heating up, they might just be breaking in. If they're not heating up, you should check the coil resistance and go from there. Might be a bad connection to the battery if that's the case. Staple mod or nudging the positive connector out a bit should do the trick.

I have found that with tw if you have an atty wthat is kind of crappy, keep caping with it and it will get stronger in about 2-3 days. I have an atty that was terrible when i first used it but i am coming up on a month now that is the longest an atty has ever lasted.

just try them for a few days, it took up to a week with mine. dont consider them dead unless they produce no vapor at all.

or you could ask for a refund?

I haven't written off TW, I'd just like to know how many harsh cart refills I have to go through before they start working. I mean they seem like quality units, just work for me.

Try dripping initially. Emphasis on less, to ensure they aren't getting flooded. With mine, I found it took quite a while before they started churning out vapor - frustrating to say the least, and confounding, as my first two from Cignot were insane from the get-go LOL... e-cigs are strange things...

What is TW?

I second that! I'm not familiar with who that is either but I'd like to know so I can avoid ordering atty's from them!

If you don't already have a multimeter, get one.

Test the ohms of your atomizers with it. A good atty will read about 3.2 - 3.5 ohms. You test it by inserting the red tip of the multimeter into the center hole of the battery end of the atty and the black tip resting on the battery edge of the atty as shown in the picture below.

If the atty reads 0 ohms or reads above 10 ohms then it's bad.

This way you will know if TW sent you duds and you can ask for replacements. That is - if you got a warranty for your purchase.

If the atty reads the proper ohms, but it's causing you problems then it may need breaking in time.

Otherwise - check your battery to make sure it's charged.

If you're getting a harsh burnt taste then drip a few drops of liquid on the bridge of the atty and try again.

If you've burned the wick of the atty - remove it with tweezers. The wick is located under the bridge of the atty. If the wick gets burned you'll keep getting that burnt taste so it's best to remove it.

Does this apply to a 510? Could you possibly post some pictures or a video of doing this? I've looked at my 510 atty's and I don't see how to get under the bridge to any kind of "wick".

You normally can't see the wick because it's directly under the bridge of the atty. It's hard to get a close-up of pulling the wick out of the atty.

You'll need tweezers that have long very thin points like shown in the picture below. You kind of have to gently dig around under the bridge with the tips of the tweezers and then use the tweezers to pull out all the wick.

You'll see in the picture below that after I pulled the wick out of my 510 atty the ends of the wick were burnt. The atty kept giving me a burnt taste and now it no longer does.

One note though: I only drip so the wick is not needed. I'm not sure how well removing the wick works when using carts.
