Besides the Provari I haven't found anything that is of the form factor and price of an SVD. I was using nemesis clones with kicks but they are unreliable(buy 4 get 2 good ones) . Am I missing an alternative to the SVD or is it pretty much all there is?

For me I like ego's , no name mod's, and mechs.
I got this really cheep no name mod that works great I love it , it goes with me every were mined you it's only vv but it work just like my SVD . The SVD is my at home unit , with the 18650's it's just to big to take out and the 18350's it's still too big .

I replaced my SVD with a Sigelei-20W and happy with it. You can find them for $80. 30W for $100.

That was my original plan, nemesis clone with kick but out of 4 I only got 2 good ones. They have a switch/tolerance issue.
I bought their little 18350, its just what I need. thanks for the brand recommendation.
Are you aware that the kick has a minimum tolerance for resistance for it to fire?
Depending on which kick it is the tolerance can be different.
If you're wanting to form factor of the svd and a reliable output you may want to wait. The smoktech provec is about to be released. It's a 30w device with a Bluetooth capability. Pretty sure you set the device from the bluetooth.
Looks cool, a little long but it's gonna run a high output freq like the DNA chips take an 18650 battery and if memory serves msrp between 100-125 dollars

The sigelei Zmax has better build quality and LED screen than the SVD from I hear . If you see any video review of the SVD you can see that it uses very old fashioned LED which can barely show show any digits on screen.
Also, Sigelei makes the Legend (the v2 is good from what I hear), 20w and 30w. I just bought a 30w for 80$ on ebay, and it was authentic still shrink-wrapped. Sigelei has 6 month warranty on their equipment as well, which is good

I use a provari, MVP and a kicked mech.
The MVP is my back up and the provari is my daily driver. If I'm going to be in a bar, concert or outside festival the kicked mech is coming with and the provari stays home. I like the mech. I'll take out the kick and use it to subohm on those rare occasions that I get that itch. - it's just not my thing. If I had to have only one mod I would have a tough time making the call between the mech and provari. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love my p-thingy! It is by far my favorite! That's why i won't take it to drinking activities. I can live
without the mech. everything you have ever heard a provari "fanboy" say about them is absolutely true! It's one of those things that after you buy for it you get almost a buyers remorse, it shows up and you take your first vape and all of a sudden it dawns on you. "I get it now." Then You hear Neal Pert on drums for tr first time.
I just can't totally explain it.
I'm not sure if you're looking for an "upgrade" in a tube mod and by upgrade what are you looking for?
These are the things you need to figure out before you buy. As much as I love my p-thingy. It's not for everyone. Like I said earlier I don't subohm often and really I only do it to taste my DIY juice. Other than that I'm using regulated. I vape so I don't smoke not to be a cloud chaser if you're into high power tube mods- the sigelei 30w A and evict supreme are out now or the provec(smoktech) is coming out. I would suggest the smoktech only because I've read some reviews on the sigelei that we're not so flattering on its build quality. I've had some pretty bad experience with all of the joyetech products I've owned; granted I've read that the supreme is supposedly better than the previous products of theirs, but at 170 bucks, I'm not willing to take another chance in them- especially when the provari is less expensive and a superior product in my opinion. If you want a durable, reliable, accurate, high frequency and consistent vape, provari is the way to go.
But it comes down to what you want out of your APV. Once you get that figured out you can hone in on your options and cut them down.

I'm seeing the 20W Sigelei's on ebay for $50, might get on depending on how I like the mini. I also bought smoktech's mod for the nemesis, maybe I can get one of my didn't to work.

Sigeli, VAMO v5 or whatever the current version is, itaste VTR (even though it's basically the SVD in another form factor) are all good alternatives.
Vamo V5 for the money is hard to beat. Me my mother and three close family friends all have Vamo v5s and love them. The down side is the length. Out of the house I run it in 18350 and at home 18650. But for about a month now I can't put down my stingray clone and Kayfun 3.1 with a 1.4 ohm mega coil I am no where near needing the mech amp capabilities however the straight power instead of the pulses of a regulated are more enjoyable to me. That old saying just because it can do 100mph doesn't mean you have to do 100mph. A Lamborghini is still a Lamborghini even at normal highway speed. The high frequency regulated mods are better, you just pay for it. This 35$ mech with a sony vtc5 battery does a hell of a good job.

there's the vamo, sigelei zmax, smoktech zmax, sid, tesla, lavatube.

The dna30 is a chip, what is the name of the mod you purchased? Is it a tube or box shape?
Which is kinda not a factor. Can take any thing that will hold the chip battery buttons and wires. The thing with vv/VW devices that sets them apart is the chip, and contacts/body voltage loss. I saw a Hana clone chip in a decommissioned pineapple grenade. Squeeze the spoon to fire. Anyway the DNA 30 chipset looks promising.

Before you jump on a DNA chipset; you may wanna take a gander at the sx350 chipset.
I've tried them both and own neither- yet.
The sx350 is upgradeable and it down regulates both of which the DNA won't do. As of how the sx chip is upgradeable to run 50 watts. I've been toying with the idea of building one for a few weeks now. There are a few vendors online that sell "kits." It's kind off like an ikea nod. Lol
I'm just waiting to see what the next gen provari is going to be before I jump on something. But in my opinion, based on the limited research I've done the sx chipset is a significantly more capable option than the DNA, and it's cheaper.
I just can't find many mods on the market that already have it installed.
You can get all the parts to build a mod.

Yihi sx350 has the gravity sensor and only one button. Sounds like a pain in the ..... I like the three button designs myself.
