Am I doing something wrong? or do I just not like wizard labs strawberry?

SB was one of my favorite flavors I used to buy pre-made from the store here in town and I've really liked every other flavor I got from WL (except chocolate, that was for the wife) I can't get the SB right or maybe I'd like a different brand?

It has kind of a burnt taste I think and the actual SB is too faint. I'm doing 100% PG, 18mg/ml nic and started at 10% SB, I didn't think it was right so I upped it to 20% SB. I posted in the newbie forum and someone suggested there that 10% is too high for some flavors and to try 5. I took 1ml of my now 20% SB ejuice and diluted it with 2ml PG, it just went down to nothing there.

Should I be using sweetener? Just try a different brand? Recommendations?

Capellas sweet strawberry 15% with a lil em 3% does it for me

I think this is Flavor Apprentice flavoring? If so, then yes it needs some sweetening, imo. I mix it at 15% with 2% EM & it's pretty good.
BUT you might want to try Capella's Sweet Strawberry which I think is much better. Capella's Strawberries & Cream is also very good.

Thanks you all. I might try the capellas with em. I guess what I didn't get across in my op is, it's possible the WL stuff tastes more like real SBs and the premade SB juice I used to use was like candy.

WL strawberry tastes like strawberry fruit rollups. I wouldn't say it has any natural flavor at all. I have a template I use for mixing new flavors-
24mg 60/40
5% Flavor
2% ethyl maltol

I made a 5mL batch last night and today it tastes a little weak, but only slightly so.
Since you use 100% PG 5% should be perfect. If you want it sweeter you should add some ethyl or some sucralose.

May be a dumb newbie question, but the em comes in the form of crystals, how do you all measure this? Is 2%, 2% crystals by weight? or is it 2% PG/VG with crystals dissolved in it? And at what ratio do you dissolve them in pg/vg?

edit: and is there any type of place in a city one could buy em crystals? I'm missing my strawberry, it's my favorite flavor I guess since strawberry swishers are my non-E weakness.

1.8 grams for every 10mL of PG
I forget where I seen that.

That makes 10% ethyl maltol solution.
I use 2%-(10% ethyl maltol solution)

If you don't have a scale, 1/4 tsp. crystals to 10 ml PG. You'll have to soak it in hot water bath and shake often to dissolve the crystals. My personal preference is to load a 30 ml bottle of PG with as many crystals as will dissolve. I don't have an exact amount, I just keep adding and dissolving crystals until the PG won't hold any more. When you finally reach the maximum absorption level, there will be a few crystals settled in the bottom that will not dissolve. I just leave them there until I use some of the EM in mixes and then add a little more PG, heat, shake and go. It has a fuller flavor and you don't have to use as much in your juice mix.

Also I do have "sweetener" from WL, sucralose in pg I believe but doesn't say what concentration. What ratio in juice is that stuff good at? EM better?
