Am I doing this wrong?

I just got my DSE 901 from totally wicked yesterday, and want to compliment on the fast shipping first of all.

Anyways, a couple of questions.

1. I feel like I am going through cartridges extremely fast. a 15 or 20 minute car ride and I have to top off a cart halfway to my destination that I just filled before I left. When I looked in the blank I saw that there was not a lot of cotton inside. Should I add more for better juice absorbtion.

2. sometimes when I take a cart out the cotton is stuck to the atomizer by a tiny bit. (A) Is this a sign of too wet or dry atomizer (B) is this bad for the atomizer

3. Sometimes when I take a drag I suck juice in am I filling it up too much or drawing too hard?

4. after about three seconds of taking a long drag my led light shuts off. this is not consistent but happens a couple times.

5. How often to I need to extensively clean my atomizer I let it drain battery side up everynight but how often does it need soaking in some type of liquid

6. Any good juice sites? I really like fruit flavors and my ultimate would be orange but surprisingly I havent seen it. I live in the US so somebody here would be nice. preferrably a major dealer with good rep.

I want to conclude by saying that it is amazing that you can study about something as simple as an ecig for weeks before you get your first one, and when you finally hold it in your hands it is almost like you are clueless on what to do haha.

1. I see you have the 901...if it has anything near the size of my 801 cartridge, it does hold a lot of liquid but it is hard to wick the juice fully out of the cart. I only see mine wicking out the top few drops and I do have to refill/top off the cart. I usually top off my cart after vaping what would be considered 2 cigarettes worth of puffing. So no, I don't think you are doing anything wrong.


2. The cotton gets caught on the bridge of the atomizer because it has nooks and crannies and cobs ahold of the cotton. No worries, sometimes it will make a funny taste if it gets further down in there, the cottony stuff should eventually compress a bit and will catch the "bridge" of the atomizer less.

3. I don't think you are sucking too hard...sometimes when we fill, we get a tiny bit of fluid on the cartridge and it will leak in your mouth as you inhale. No worries on that either. Although you want to try and minimize this less...you don't want to be drinking the liquid or anything! I would just wipe off your cartridge with a cloth/napkin (I use my shirt!).

4. Your LED is probably shutting off because of a shutoff on the unit. This shutoff exists to keep your atomizer from burning up in case of an accidental triggering of power to the atomizer. I use button operated mods so that I don't have to deal with a cutoff. To avoid the cutoff, try taking a primer puff before inhaling (meaning, take a small drag, let off, then drag deeply right away), some e-cigs are fooled by this...if not, at least you are getting two good drags (with a bit of a pause).

5. Every time I have tried soaking my atomizer or cleaning it, I end up breaking it, so I cannot instruct on that question. I do tip mine upside down at night if I feel too much liquid is in the atty, this will result in a dry atomizer that might take a bit to get up and go when you start it up again. So far setting them upside down has not broken them for me though, so I stick with that.

6. I like to buy my liquid from eastmall because you get a lot of bang for your buck. I spend $50 on 100 mL and then I dilute it down to half nic liquid and half glycerine and a touch of flavor from Lorann's candy flavoring, this makes it $50 for 200 mL (seeing as though I use such little amounts of the other things that the money doesn't really count on that part). I know they have a sale right now that if you buy the 100 mL he is throwing in another 40 mL for free, or if you buy 200 mL he will include an extra 100 mL for free. Also, every time you order there, you build up money to go to your next order (and you can choose when to use it). The shipping to NE is about 12 days, but people closer to the coast are getting it in 6 days. I refrigerate the unused liquid (the stuff I didn't mix) as I want it to last for a very long time, as I don't use it up fast enough.

You are doing fine...the last long post was spot on perfect. I really like the size of the 901,but the carts suck in capacity. i alway drip 1 to 3 drops on a cart every vape session. If using a new cart thats flavored, i put one drop on it before its use. Battery life per battery is about 30 good puffs. At the bar last night went through 2 battey's in 5 hours(first analog free drinking night). i got 4 batteries i rotate, i would suggest getting at least that many..just had one die sooo now its 3 lol.

hyper, a quick tip that I always forget myself (D'oh) is to just hold the e-cig tilted down to prevent liquid from entering your mouth. This works for me almost every time.

I did know about the battery cutoff and this wasnt behaving like it. I think ti is probably my lung capacity is crap right now because I havent used analogs and thats why it cuts off

I have the same problem sometimes with the 901 carts. It seems like I am constantly topping and never using al of the juice in them. One thing that I do is to give the 901 one or two good shakes with the battery facing down to try to force some of the liquid towards the atomizer. I have also been experimenting with filer material and foam aquarium filter sleeve seems to be an improvement.

Great answers, very helpful for me, too.
I recently bought 36mg HIgh Density juice. If too strong, how do I reduce the strength? 1. Do I simply experiment by combining glycerine with it?
2. Is there any side effect if I accidentally taste the liquid?
3. What is Lorann's Candy Flavoring? Is that flavoring commonly used for cakes and pastries?

I just had an analog after 5 hours of vaping, and, boy, did it make me dizzy. Still controlling my analog urges till now.
