Am I doing this wrong?

I just got a SS Choice No.7 Micro on Monday. This thing seemed great when I got it.

I also got the Red Oak Sampler from Johnson Creek, wanting to have a few things to try out with it.

Here's my problem. Seems like if I take more than 6 or so puffs, I get a real lack of vapor, and it starts tasting lightly burnt. There was still juice in the cart, but it was kinda dry on the top filler. Put a couple drops on and it works again for a few more puffs. Even tried the blue foam mod I saw for 510 carts. And it worked really good (tasted kinda funny, maybe didn't rinse it out enough) here and there. But when I set it down for awhile, it's just like pullin teeth getting more than a couple vapes without the same ole thing happening.

It's that way on both atty's I got with it, even with fresh batteries. Has a newbie move caused this, or is the No.7 Micro just inconsistent? It can get to be pretty frustrating.

Help???

so that Micro #7 looks to be a DSE-103 , The best thing to do with those is ignore the carts completley. Use them as simply a mouthpiece and drip 3-4 drips of juice , right on to the silver mesh wick of the atomizer. You should get at least 6 good drags before you need to do it again.

their claim of "Each cartridge is the equivalent to 12-15 cigarettes" is complete bull, Carts generally last for about 1 to 1 1/2 cigarettes.

To the OP; you are not necessarily having a problem. If you take a half dozen draws of so from an e-cig and soon after want to take a hlf dozen more, you are taxing your cartridge. It cannot wick enough liquid to the atomizer to give you consistent hits. So, topping off the cartridge filler frequently is very normal.

Agreed, and very observant for a new user! :) You may wish to try an auto-drip 510 cart mod. I use the ZFM mod, and get about 60 hits before needing to refill. Since you have blue foam, try the blue foam plug mod. Either one should work better than filling the cart with some material that hold on to juice. Another good filler, however, is Buff Puff facial sponge, but you have to cut it right to get the channels lined up properly to wick to the atty, rather than side to side.

You issue is quite normal for the 510.

Honestly, all these cart mods generally turn out to be completely useless or hit-or-miss. Just use your cartridges as they came to you from the factory, rinse them when you think they are gross and stuff them back in your catridges when you are ready to refill.

At some time down the road, try dripping into you atomizer. It really is nice as it remove the cartridge completely from your vaping routine.

I have done that to try and get it to start wicking. Is that what is also called 'priming the atty' after you blow it out or rinse it out? And also, thanx for putting up with all these questions. Should I avoid dripping with this since it has auto batteries (from what I gathered from other threads)?

I got it to work good for awhile, taking a few hits here and there, and generally slowing down... Until I put a fresh cart I made onto it. Ugh... Stupid learning curve :D
