Am I hiting this thing too much?

I just received my first e-cig (ego) last week and I seem to be hitting this thing all the time. I figure that I am going through 3 to 5 carts a day. What I am wondering if anyone else vapes this much when they start.

I think the problem I am having is that with the regular cig you have a stopping point. In 5 to 7 minutes you are done with the smoke. But now you basically have a lit one ready to go at all times. I’m not sure if it’s just because it’s a new toy and in the back of my mind, or is this going to be the norm.

I don’t know anyone else that uses e-cigs so I don’t have anyone else to ask for a reverence point, but I have a few friends that are paying attention on how this goes, because if it goes well they are going to try it.

When I first got my Riva 510, I hit that thing constantly. Good thing I ordered a lower nic level originally. HAHA! You will find that usage differs. Some people use only 1 or 2 MLs a day while others may use 5 or 6 MLs a day.

I have been vaping for a little over 2 weeks now and I find that my usage has slowed some. I am not constantly hitting it now, but I do have the thing in hand or within reach at all times. Its a pacifier for me. I would say I use between 2 and 3 mls per day. Some days less. Some days more.

I say, if you need to vape, then vape. Whatever it takes to not go back to cigarettes.

After 1 month of vaping- I too feel like I am constantly vaping. I am using around 3ml/ day. In addition to the fact that the PV is like a constantly lit cigarette mentioned above, I no longer have to take a break and go outside for a ...., which I did about once every 50-60 minutes. So I have more time to do things other than smoking, but I am vaping while I do everything. That would be an interesting POLL- who used to smoke analogs outside, but now vapes inside..

I am doing the same thing as you, constantly using it. My husband and I have RIVA 510s and I've been through triple the battery charges that he has (we are on day 5).

I hope I slow down, but at this point I am so happy to be off cigarettes that I'm not going to worry about it.

We smoked under the range hood in our kitchen, which vented outside with a fan, in the winter; and outside during spring/summer/fall. Now, I think this thing is permanently attached to my hand. The only place I haven't vaped is in the bedroom, but I've thought about doing that too.

But yea with them, you have a stopping point, vaping theres not especially using a pass thru as well. Which I LOVE>> So nice not having to worry about Battery running out.. I now am a DIY for the carts, am just am pleased with everything. Still things Im learning and tweaking, but I love it!

I went into vaping determined not to increase my nicotine dependence. So even though I would enjoy vaping all the time, I keep myself from doing that a variety of ways. At home where I already vape too much, I leave the ecigs in a nearby room so I have to walk there to take some drags just like when i smoked. I only leave one ecig next to me if I will be stuck at the computer or cooking etc for a while.

I bought PTs for emergencies but I don't hook them up for everyday vaping.

At work the ecigs are on my desk but I leave them on the desk and only pick one up if I want a few drags.

I started out trying to vape exactly like I smoked with lots of drags then a time gap with no drags. But like lots of people I started vaping more often than I smoked but for fewer drags. I just try not to overdo it. I know exactly where I get a headache from too much nic. Or my fingertips get cold or other symptoms. I'm actually lowering my nic and I hope to get to zero so I can vape as much as I want whenever I want.

Since I use mine as a form of helping to quit smoking, I adhere to the instructions and warnings. I give myself about 12-14 puffs at a time, which is about equal to the amount of smoking I would do off of one analog. I treat my smoke breaks the same and my venues (for the most part) the same too. For now, I treat vaping the same as analog smoking until I have a groove set, then I can start weening myself down to less vaping and then stepping down the nicotine...pretty much the same way i did with patches, although those didn't help for the simple reason that I needed the physical fix of having something in my hand to smoke.

I've been vaping for over 18 months now, and I still hit it almost constantly. But it's more because I enjoy the act of vaping, I find it very relaxing. I'd say I probably vape about 3 ml per day (at 12mg/ml). I intentionally went with a lower level so that I could vape all day. When I first started vaping I was using a higher level, and would start to get headaches and feel nauseous after a few hours. Then I dropped it down some, and everything was good.

It's all about what you want/enjoy.

At your point wouldn't worry about it. Your priority right now is to stop cigarettes and and only a week into vaping the toxins in cigs haven't had time to get out of your system completely.

5 Carts isn't a large number at any rate. Some do alot more, some do less and take in consideration you're not vaping the entire cart unless you're vaping it completely dry...which I doubt and hope not.

I figure that I am going through 3 to 5 carts a day.

I vape constantly but I must be cheap. I get ...... off if I have throw out more than 1 cart a week. Don't you refill your cartos by dripping into them during the day? Or using a syringe at night to replenish the juice? Just a thought.

Check your nic level. You've probably started out too low.
When I got my ecig I started at 6mg which turned out to be way too low. Raised it to 18 and that was much better.
I still vape a lot more than I smoked because it tastes so good and I don't have to go outside to do it. By evening I usually have a headache from too much nicotine. I bought some 0 nic juice to use in the evenings, no more headaches.

I use a Kr808 during the day and keep my pv with me all day in my back pocket but I only have time to hit it a few times at any one time. I keep my pcc on my desk and go through about 3 carts a day. At night around the house I drip with a riva. I pretty much vape constantly at night. I mix my own and everything is 18mg.

I don't know anyone else who vapes either so I have no idea if I am normal or not, but to be honest as long as it keeps working for me I couldn't care less!
