First of all, spare me the "to each his own" vaping philosophy comments.

I GET that, I really do, but it's become cliche and obvious.

No, what I really want to know is it worth messing with. Does it provide something that is worth the learning curve, and the obtaining a new mod and wire?

I guess, for me, technically I don't need a new Mod, since I have an ipv D-3, but I'd still like to hear the pros and cons and personal experiences.

Now you say something.

1: If you do decide to get a new mod, there's no point in getting one that doesn't have variable temperature mode as an option.

2: things have improved since last year, and now you no longer need to use nickel or titatium and be carefull not to dryburn them; instead you can just use stainless steel which can work in variable temperature mode as well as wattage mode, and no known concerns about dryburning.

IMO only if you tend to suffer a lot of dry hits and/or burnt coils.
OTOH, you can always run these mod's in wattage mode until you decide you want to try Temp Control :?:

I own both and use both TL and power on the mods I own. I agree with edyle, if you purchase a new mod what will it hurt to grab one with TL available on the device.

All that being said I still use kanthal more than the TL but only because I very rarely burn cotton and get dry hits. On my Crown tanks I do run the .15 TL coils and the flavor is nice and the coils last a couple weeks. I also build with Ti and SS. The Stainless is nice, the flavor it produces is a little better than kanthal and again the coils have more life. I use 24 and 26 gauge wire so both wires are real easily to build with and mount in my tanks.

The one thing about TL that is challenging will be the variables. A good connection at the 510 and on the posts if you rebuild is a must in TL. Airflow, if it is inadequate you will go into TL quickly. Once you get through the learning curve, identify which tanks "like" TL and find your sweet spot it's a good vape and the coils/cotton lasts longer.

If you get what you want from kanthal and aren't burning cotton, you get the flavor and vapor you desire then it simply offers you other options. Some liquids do taste better in TL! I have a butterscotch/peanut butter cookie that only see's SS.

    Good luck!

How could a person Answer this Question when they know Nothing about what you are Looking For in a Hit? Or if you are Happy/Unhappy with what you are Currently Using?

Since you already own a "TC" device and I would assume you have some kinds of rebuildable "top". IMHO, I don't think it would hurt just to venture into it. All you need is a bit of TC wires; buy, steal or borrow, up to you, lol. If you don't like it, not much harm done, if you like it, then take off from there.
Me? I kinda like it in some and not in others.

I use tc almost exclusively now, not because of dry hits. I didn't like the taste of ti wire but to me nickel has maybe a cleaner taste. Hard to describe, when I go back to kanthal on my rda it's like I can taste the wire. Still need to order some ss to play with but enjoy ni enough that I ordered 1000ft of tempered. Oh and I use rebuildables only now so nothing to take a ss coil to try.

IDK, maybe like by offering personal experience, like I asked, or would that be too weird?

I must admit to using both kanthal and TC wires. My fav tc wire was titanium, my custard tasted great on it for some reason, better by far than normal kanthal. With all the concerns about Ti I thought I would try stainless 316l, which arrived today and although the temp control work well, the flavour is not as good but there may be a "break in" period with ss, this is my first build with it. I'll update when I've used it for a day or two

    Sure.

I've tried TC with a Varity of Alloys. I didn't see a Huge Benefit in it.

But I wasn't getting Dry Hits to start with. Or trying to push the Wattage to the Edge of getting them.

I don't find it a must have, but it is nice being able to vape at the maximum wattage the build will handle without getting dry hits. My most flavorful build is also a tc one, but i run non tc builds at high wattage's (maybe too high for the build) so that might be a factor.

Get some SS wire, then you can run that in wattage and tc mode. That is what I plan on doing.

    So, it's like a luxury.
