Ok, so I'm waiting on my new Stingray clone and as much as I'm psyched is as much as I am nervous. I'm asking myself if this was a dumb move.

My husband and I quit smoking about 2 months ago and simply fell in love with vaping. Too make a long story short....We currently use MVP 2s and seem to go through coils quickly so we decided it was time to look at rebuildables. Now there is no need to debate this since it no longer matters....mods are ordered....but we were told our MVPs would not handle bigger tanks like orchid or kayfun. Hence the Stingray order

So....here's my concern, mind you, my husband is a master electrician so he knows all about ohms and whatnot. He's still reading, viewing and researching this but again he's not blind to it. But my concern is me! I read all about the dangers of these and think I'm prime trouble! Why? Cause I suck the hell out of my MVP. I mean I'm forever having to dry hit to lose the burnt taste from over vaping and my battery always yells at me (flashes green) and shuts down. I don't even realize I'm that bad.

Am I heading for trouble?

Dry burning cotton is horrible. Trust me the negative reinforcement plus refilling/dripping a lot more frequently will quickly retrain your habit. [emoji6] I was JUST like you and then I started dripping. Slowing down is a natural reaction when you notice how much faster you go through juice. You'll experiment and eventually find your sweet spot of vaping momentum.

You're very lucky Ms Ocey. I killed 2 batteries in 3 days on a mech...but that's because my fav juice is a super-strong menthol, and flavor doesn't start muting so quickly. I stick to pretty much regulated mods these days.

OP, good luck with that Stingray! :D

My juice is super strong mint/menthol too, but I gauge battery life by vapor production not taste. I got into the habit with my bottom-feeders, since they always taste good.

You aren't headed for trouble, you are headed to Vape nirvana.
After $600 worth of regulated mods, I bought my wife a caravela clone and a trident dripper.
A year later she has 11 mods and about a half pound of attys.
She builds all OUR coils and just scored herself an Emma copper (clone) and matching copper Zenith atty.
(And all I got was a lousy FUHatten...lol)

Once you go mechanical, it changes your benchmark for vape performance.

I won't be dripping.....

Famous last words.

When I first got into RTAs I kept telling myself, "Meh, dripping seems like such a pita. It's not for me." Fast forward a few months and it is all I do when at home. The dripping experience has become some what of a ritual for me and is quite relaxing. I only used my tanks when out and about.

That's the turn off of dripping for me. It seems awfully inconvenient. Lol it may sound silly but I'm a nonstop person, to have to constantly stop what ever it is I'm doing to drip seems....again....inconvenient.

What's the benefit to dripping that it's such a passion for people? (Keeping in mind I DON'T want my house to look like London in all the Jack the Ripper movies....I don't like the big clouds)

:)

Dripping is not for everyone, It is a bit more messy/hassle, but the flavor is great. So us drippers take the extra time to enjoy it, and don't mind the extra prep.

If tanks is your gig, run with it. I still use tanks when I'm out and about or active. But always carry a drip rig for the times I can spend a little extra "me" time and enjoy a super flavorful warm vape.

What's best is what works for you, and keeps your happy with as less interruption to your daily life/routine.

Well put and understood. Thanks for the response. I'm all about flavor and nothing more :)

Off topic question....you said you carry around a drip rig. I've been looking for a vape bag to replace the pos I have without spending a mint or carrying around something that's the same size as my purse. Might I ask what type of bag you use? :)

Those were my thoughts as well before I started dripping. Just too much hassle. And that's why I only do it when at home but it is all I do at home. I shelf my RTA as soon as I walk in the door and grab my dripper. It's just so much more satisfying to me.

I do agree with everything T3Texas said though. Whatever keeps you off the stinkies, be it eGo, RTAs, RDAs, hell, even if Blu works for you, then that's good in my book.

Just as T3Texas said, flavor. Although I personally like clouds as well myself.

OR (there seems to always be an "or" in vaping)...if you like the flavor of dripping without the constant distraction, you could always go for a rebuildable tank atty. As mentioned above, drippers do provide superior flavor. A good RTA will be very close to that flavor, without the constant need to drip. Personally, I'm a HUGE fan of the SQuape R. Easy to build, easy to wick, and works like a charm. Erlkonigin is another wonderfully performing RTA, but I find it a huge pain to wick the thing.

Just another avenue to explore...
