I'm looking for a mech mod under 60. My main requirement is that it be durable. I drop my e cig all the time on concrete, the threads came loose last time I dropped my cheapo clone mod (idk what it was a clone of).

I read a thread here about best mech mods under 60 but am pretty overwhelmed by the number of different recommendations. The stingray, copper penny, nemesis, and cartel seem to be good picks but honestly I have no clue what the difference in all of them is and who makes the best clone of each.

Advice?

Well for drop resistant, you don't want the copper or brass; you want the steel versions.
And you'd want 1 tube, not a versatile set of tubes that you connect together, but a single 1-piece tube.

How does $45 qualify as "budget" ????

You're going to have to direct your question to the OP since the title of their thread is "budget mechanical mod " and they have stated a budget of $60. It would appear that he/she considers a sub $60 mechanical mod a "budget" mod.

Dont ever look at the price tags on most original mods, if $45 is pricey in your vape budget.

I'll throw in my reccomendation; Smok Fury-S. All SS, and I'm pretty confident I could chuck mine across a parking lot, and it would be okay. Downside to it is if you push sub-ohm, the switch can sometimes get hot, and attys with stubby 510s dont get along.

My beater is a Smok Magneto II, but if I got to do it again I would pick up the Fury. I put the Magneto through more than its share of abuse but I would prefer the solid unibody instead of the telescoping tube.

Personally I would rather have one quality mod I can depend on rather than a bunch of cheapos that I'm counting on to fail me at some point.

None of my mods cost over $30, and I'd recommend them all, brass and copper included. They're all sturdy, all survived various drops, all working after long use, and will all outlive just about anything that's not a mech:

Launcher: SS, copper contacts: under $20
Sentinel, brass, brass contracts:under $17
Brass King v 2, knurled top/bottom, copper plated brass contacts, under $25
Cartel, copper, copper pins, THICK walls, sturdy as hell, under $30.

There are hundreds of good, inexpensive mods on FT.

Add (NEVER FROM FT: USE NAME BRAND BATTERIES AND CHARGER)

1. Couple of good batteries for under $20. Here's a list of batteries, with stats Battery mAh & C Rating = amp Calculator
Also read Baditude's blogs on batteries http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/baditude/6740-18-baditudes-blogs.html
2. Good charger for under $15--mine's an intellicharger

You should be able to keep this under $60, no problems, if you use FT for the mod.
