Hello, I'm new here but not quite new to the world of PVs. I currently have a set of "Joye eGo" w/ 900mah batteries and drip tips as I hate messing with the cheap junky cartridges and burnt poly filler. My question is, am I on the right track? As PVs go on a scale of 1-10 where do I sit. I've run the gamut of crappy cig look-a-like kits and my first eGo was a fake and died after a month or two so I'm not completely green. I'm getting ready to get back on the bandwagon and have joined the forum here in an attempt to go whole hog. I figured first thing first lets find out how my rig stacks up.

Thanks!

I think that the eGo is a good basic kit. If you are truly using cartridges, pick up a 5 pack of 510 Boge 2ohm (LR) cartomizers. They make the eGo much easier to live with and can be used with the drip tip. Looks like you're starting off on the right platform - eGo/510 lets you try many types of attys and cartomizers and even if you go to bigger mods later they'll still come in handy. I use XL dual coil cartomizers on mine when I'm out of the house and they hit well and last a long time. Definitely a solid start! Welcome to ECF - people here are helpful and searching will get you answers too! Good luck!

With cartos getting them filled fully and topping them off when they start dropping off is the key to avoid that burning, ezpecially with single coil low resistance ones. With some of those you still may need to wait a few more seconds between puffs and not draw as long. The dual coils don't burn as easily as they split the load. I always blow through a carto after filling (dripping into the mouthpiece end around the sides) to make sure the center tube is clear, and that stops most leaking. If it's gurgling, blow it out on a tissue and you're all set!

Thanks AJT, anyone have a suggestion on what type or brand of carto to get? Obviously I'm not happy with the one I have. I think mine is a standard licensed 510. As previously stated I do pretty well with an atomizer/DT combo but always looking to improve on the quality of the hit and limiting the amount of refilling I need to do. Dripping and driving is a pain. ;^)

on a scale of 1-10 you are sitting at a solid 7 (which to me is the pinnacle for the type of pv you are using, 8,9,10 are for mods, 3.7v+box mod 8, 9 for a vv box mod, 10 for reaching the pinnacle of vaping, a provari or darwin sort of pv). If you enjoy dripping like you are now you didnt say what type of atties you are using, if you have a good 510 lr atty im running one at 1.5ohm it hits like a champ. There are also kranger 510 cartomizers that are horizontal coils the draw is good not hard, vapour production is great, and its a warm vapour as well

I'm currently using a standard 510 type atomizer. I assume it is a Joye approved or equivalent. I order from GP and have not had any problem with there products. I've been smoking for a long time so I enjoy a good throat hit. These tend to do a good job but as previously stated I'm always looking for improvements.

"There are also kranger 510 cartomizers that are horizontal coils" this and the name brand Beans mentioned is the type of info I'm looking for. I've gotten as far as I have on my own trials and errors but now I'm looking for some revision.

I'm a little confused here.

I keep reading about cartomizers and cartridges. I"m using the eGo 900 with juice and a drip tip. What are the other things? I thought - at first - they were the pre-filled tips, but now I'm thinking I may have that wrong.

a cartomizer is a cartridge and atomizer all in one 2 piece design (battery cartomizer),

a cartridge is like on the ego tank system, filled with liquid that drips on to the atty below it (3piece design, battery, atty, cartridge/tank)

drip tip used to top off a cartomizer which is easier then pulling out the o-rings in the top, or used to directly drip onto an atty
