If by the right track, you're speaking of being smoke free for five weeks via vaping, a resounding YES you are on the right track. If by the right track, though, you mean jumping around from device to device in search of vaping Nirvana, perhaps not. There are fairly consistent upgrades to both batteries and toppers that a great many vapers follow. Usually, seems to me, many vapers start with CE# toppers, then upgrade to top coils (vivi nova) OR bottom coils (Kanger evod and Protank) then commonly to cartos and carto tanks and then to RBA's and RDA's. Everyone starts somewhere and either stays, or ends up with more advanced devices, what else is there. Along the way, sometimes early, sometimes late, vapers will also try a dripper to test their juices, and may or may not choose to build/rebuild their own coils which opens up the more advanced RBA/RDA devices.
On batteries, it's often cigalikes evolve to ego/stick batteries to APV's like the iTaste 3.0, a stick battery with full APV features, then APV's like the Vamo, then perhaps the SVD or MVP V2, the Sigelei's, perhaps the evic, then the Provari. Many will jump into mechanicals, which require a greater understanding of batteries and Ohm's law and usually rebuildable coils, as you will often need to match coil resistance to the vape in a mechanical, but not always.
Everyone's journey is different. Most do not jump around as quickly as you are doing. At five weeks, many vapers are using clearomizers and may never go to cartomizers or RBA/RDA's. I personally like the carto and carto tanks, but I do change my cartos out frequently in order to maintain the "best" vape possible at all times. Also, my juice is all wrong, i.e., thick, sweet, dark and it will really gunk up a coil fast, which will lead to flooding, then leaking, and why I change my heads out daily, or perhaps every other day. I don't bother with cleaning coils as I can make then for a nickel, and it takes about a minute to make the coil or so, about 20 coils an hour for me, or a month's worth of coils in a 60 minute sitting, so why bother cleaning, plus it's just fun to do, for me, YMMV.
I think you have to stay with certain gear long enough to master the vape at that level. All vape gear requires maintenance and replacement, just as smokes had to replaced after every use. The difference is that vaping is more elaborate, takes a bit more time and requires experimentation to find what works best for you. In return, you quit smoking, don't die from smoking, I hope, have the coolest toys in town, a fun new hobby, that makes me happy, at least, and I get to enjoy my nicotine, which, I find, makes me work better, YMMV.
As long as you stay long enough in each area to really get the most out of it, and then search for the next level to Nirvana, then I think that's great. But, if you don't take the time to learn that clearos leak, and have to be cleared, clearned, corrected and refilled, but prematurely jump to the next best thing, thinking that you can avoid maintenance, et al, then I think you are going to fast, and possibly down the wrong path. I say, be patient. Master the vape at every level. It can be enjoyable at every level, and then improvements will be truly appreciated for what they are. Everyone VapeQuest and GearQuest is different. Only you can truly know if you are going at the best speed and in the right direction. Remember that the best way to vape, with the right gear, is what you are using right now that's keeping you from smoking. Everything else is secondary. Fare thee well! Good luck, welcome to the Forum, congratulations on the five weeks, power up and vape on!
