Am I the only one disappointed with the EVO?

Polite company Mr McArthur?

Well I am in polite company some times, until they throw me out that is:) I could quite happily live purely with the EVO or for that matter the SD. They are the ONLY two ecigs that I can say that about and I've been through a few. It's horses for courses, I can't use the SD when driving (my problem not the SD) and there are times when I just want a ... I can hold in my mouth( cue laughter from over the pond)

It's what works for you that matters - and this is a point that we need manufacturers to get hold of. With forums like this about they can swiftly ascertain what people actually want - it's then up to them to deliver it. I would like that to be in a bullet-proof indestructible sort of way, but then they have to make a living...:)

I have a Janty Dura: one battery already replaced, two of three remaining batteries are dead. I have had it for less than three weeks. I am waiting on Jeff to contact me, and though I am sure he will come through, the battery problem is a real issue. At the same time, I bought a DSE901B from Ebay: 29.00 including shipping from China. It works GREAT, and both batteries are still performing well. Sometimes, we seem to be carried away with the name brand and fail to see that when something is good, maybe there is not currently anything better even when it carries a high price tag.

I received my evo about 2 weeks ago. The battery life is down to about 2.5 hours and the battery's charged in about 30 minutes.I sent JC a message asking if this was normal and he said now and that it was probably the charger so he is sending a new one. A day later the atomizer died and so a new one of those is also being sent. All the while I have a 901 and a 103. But i just want my evo back. I am not sure it lives up to the hype of some of the posts(somone mentioned 6 hours for battery) and there may be durability problems but overall in my opinion it leaves my 901 flat. I get equal hit off both and although the 901 carts are better, the battery situation is horrible. The evo feells better in the hand and batteries charge quicker than they get used (not so with the 901)

hi mate,

i think you are the 1st person i know who has experienced poor battery life! 2.5 hours is rubbish.......even from the smaller "mighty atom" battery. could be the charger but i wouldnt be surprised if maybe you have a faulty battery as well.

the only way an evo battery would last just 2.5 hours would be if it was the smaller battery and you was constantly vaping non stop without coming up for air!

im sure john will sort that problem out, no worries!

I'm in agreement with you about branding, or more importantly perceived branding. On this forum "901" is still the killer brand and yet the battery life is very poor unless you use a USB passthrough (and then it doesn't matter). No, I don't sell USB passthroughs, and I don't sell Intellicig Evos although they are still my e-cig of choice bar none. Why? The battery life is great and the vapour approximates to that delivered by a penstyle. I have yet to have an Evo atomiser die on me (after several months) whereas my penstyle atomisers die increasingly often. I love my penstyles, but it is VERY annoying. It's a question of reliability - I want it to work, and my Evo's do. I have had occasional battery faults with Evos - John sends me a replacement without question. I like that. :)

My EVO hits nowhere near what I pen does :( I have 2, they are both the same!! Could both be defective? I think its time to find out and order more EVO kit, gotta get to the bottom of this!!!

My secret weapon with all e-cigs is extra glycerine. The draw is better and the vape is unbelievable! When using a smaller cart (unlike the bucket that is a penstyle cart!) I think it's pretty much essential - but that's just me. :)

Normally I use 36mg apple e-liquid which I immediately cut 50/50 with glycerine. It works for me. If I am smoking a new pre-filled cart I add 1 drop glycerine to it before I start. It smooths out both the taste and the draw imho.

yeah i used to cut it 50/50 but found that it starts to alter the taste of the juice, making it very sweet.

i have a bottle of 36mg camel i cut 50/50 and it tastes more like caramel now!

ahh your secret is out!! lol thanks for the tip :thumb:

lol, well almost out. my smoke ring vids were actually done without using glycerine. one vid i used e-cigs.co.uk hilton and the other vid is just a regular cart.

you can still get great rings without glycerine......its just that they linger a lot longer when its a glycerine mix rather than evaporating after 10 or so seconds.

It all depends upon what you want most. I like vast quantities of thick dry vapour. Using apple as a base takes the sweetness off a bit. The more I vape the less I am looking for liquid that tastes like tobacco, funnily enough. A flavour is a flavour - it's quite clearly the nic and the vape that I crave. :)
