I recently went through a period of high stress, and started smoking again. I decided that even though I am up to a pack a day right now, I am not going to kick myself around about it. I know that I was able to quit once by using ecigs, so I can do it again.

And yeah, I've always enjoyed smoking. Still do.

all i can say is that a carton lasting you about a year.. i do not see a problem with that.. 2 packs a day to that... i had 2 packs left when i got my pv. and its been 2 weeks now and i haven't touched them.. but i want too, not because i crave them or anything, just the simple fact of thats like 10-11 dollars wasted..lol.. i just cant bring it to myself to smoke them.. iv just gotten to the point of where i can taste my vaping liquid better.. and i dont want to go back to that.. so im probally just going to get rid of the temptation of them all together and toss them out today. because im not physically craving them at all.. its like i said.. just in my mind!

Some people are not only addicted to nicotine but also the alkaloids found in tobacco. I found out after vaping only for a couple months that no matter what I did, I could not get that "satisfied feeling" that I had gotten from cigarettes. It did not matter how strong of liquid I used or how much I vaped. It just never came. That is when I found help thru swedish snus and snuff thanks to some help from some great members here.

My story as well. Vape and snus!! Love both now and no analogs!! Amazing after 35 years and 1.25 packs a day!! But, they do call my name every now and then!!

I think that they call all of our names at one point or another. I have talked to people that have quit for several years and they say that they still have a craving sometimes and one person told me that when they smell someone smoking that it still smell good to them. I think it is great that most people are able to at least cut their cigarette habit by quite a bit using e-cigs. I would guess that other NRT's have no where near the success.

I'm probably going to agree with everyone else in saying that you've done great coming as far as you have and not to worry too much, but I will say that the reason cigs have not started to taste nasty to you is because you never gave them up to begin with. If you're still having any... even one a day your taste for them hasn't changed. Go 2-3 days without one then you'll probably change your mind.

I didn't just do the overnight switch either. Always gave myself two in the morning and sometimes one at night. I too called it my reward.

I did a few things, first, I'd log on to ECF while I smoked my analog, it is like eating a bowl of icecream while you are logged into a weight watchers forum...makes you feel very guilty.

Second, I bought myself two very nice mods, spent a bunch of moolah on juice and accessories for my new mods and promised that once they came in I would kick it.
Got my mods on Friday and am on day two of No analogs. I am wanting a bit but not so bad. My chucks definately give me that huge hit that my 510's were not and are pulling me over that last small hurdle. Kinda wanting a cig but I promised myself.

Cutting down to even one analog a day is a huge accomplishment. I set up goals to cut back and did in over three months, a bit at a time. If you really want to kick the last one that set up a date and a different reward and if you don't, hey, one cig a day is way better than what you were smoking.

as many others have already stated, i wouldn't put yourself down for not quitting altogether. cutting back, even if it's just by 1 cigarette is a big accomplishment, so congratulations!

i loved smoking, and even though quitting was in the back of my head, it definitely was not a priority. i started researching e-cigs out of curiosity, and reading all the success stories about quitting and hearing about all the variety of flavored juices actually got me excited to try! i mean i never thought i'd lose 30lbs, but i did, so why not?

i still had half a pack left when i got my 510, and i ended liking vaping so much that i just quit altogether. although it's not to say that i don't crave one every so often. my boyfriend still smokes, so the smell of a freshly opened pack tempts me. i actually took 2 puffs off of his the other day out of curiosity and i was repulsed! it just doesn't taste as good anymore. the smell however doesn't bother me as much.

Congrats! Yes I too still smoke a few everyday, I believe if I could get all my devices working properly I probably wouldn't smoke the 3-4 a day that I do only 1. I was also a 2+ pack a day smoker, now only 3-4.
Hopefully all the issues with atty's and devices get worked out so I won't crave the analog because the only true working thing I have consistantly is a 510 and that just don't cut if for me, ha ha

I doubt you are alone there pmd - this isn't a quit smoking board after all :) Its a 'love smoking board'! Just some of us ditched the fags cos the PV tasted better - but I personally didnt quit right away - heck I hadnt even PLANNED to quit at ALL but it just happened after a couple of weeks.

Same here. If my hubs didn't still buy cigs, I doubt I'd smoke again. But every few weeks I have one, or like, 3 drags of one, really. I don't even know why. My mom has 1 cigarette per day, totally loves vaping, and I don't see a problem with that either. I consider going from (in her case) about 30 cigs a day and (in my case) 20-25 cigs a day down to 1 per day or 3 every two months to be success. I haven't bought a pack of cigarettes since I started vaping, and seriously doubt I'll ever purchase another pack.
