Who feels like a syringe added to the repertoire of e-stuff is just a bit scary looking?

I mean already 50% of people have no idea what this weird stuff is, all I need further is a syringe full of weird liquid!!
:p

I'm really serious though, am I the only one feeling so weirded out using a syringe? I think I'm going to just go without it for now, but I wish there were some easier ways, and even more, I wish people knew what e-cigs were so they appreciated them more instead of just being confused or intimidated by them.

I know. I already feel like people see me & think it's some kinda fancy drug pipe or something & "what the h_ _l is that liquid she's putting in there?"

That's basically already my feeling about e-cigs without the syringe!

Even worse for me because I'm in Southern California and with the ......... stuff going on I bet that's the first guess...

I totally agree. I have a friend who gave me some and I hide them in the safe. I have kids and dont really even want them here, yet I do not want to throw them out in case I ever really need them. I can't imagine I will though. I just drip or fill/refill via condom and taryn spin method.

Was just going to say to Kinkachoo that I agree that even having them sorta sucks. I'm a younger guy, but still it would not send positive signals in any way unless the person happened to somehow be a vaper...

But like NCC said, now looking at my bottles, I may want to keep say, 3ml out of the 30ml of a flavor on my person, yet the only way I can think of moving it into a smaller bottle is with a syringe.

I'm not going to go into the store and buy one though...:oops: lol

It would help if I knew more about using them to measure, fill etc.

They seem to take so long to suck up juice and spit it back out again. I'm thinking that using them with the plunger out just to measure and pour would be easier.

I got a 2ml one with my free bottle of ECOpure and it has a great little super pointed plastic tip to attach to the syringe.

Measuring everything with one 2ml syringe is not very practical but maybe for the flavorings or super small quantities. We do have the juice calculators to make accurate larger batches if the small ones vape good.

Anyone know where to get other sizes of these? Brand name Terumo.

I never heard of a plastic syringe, sort of makes sense just may break easier. I think, correct me if I'm wrong (please because this would make a huge difference) that most of the people here are using medical grade syringes. They just probably work a ton better than the free syringe you got.

But I think I would rather a plastic one...that actually was a good point there!

If you want a better one...I would recommend looking into a medical supply store? Not sure how readily available they are, maybe the pharmacy as well.

I have the medical grade ones with the stainless steel needles also. They are the ones that work slowly even though I have 18 gauge needles. The syringe part is plastic.

That's what I mean. I don't use 1 either I would really get some looks then. I hope people don't berate me for posting here since op was about syringes but I've had those exact same feeling.

I use the blunt tip pipetting needles on this page (in the second grouping of needles)
pipetting%20needles2.jpg

The bore diameter increases inversely with the gauge size. i.e., the smaller the number, the larger the hole. I'm using gauge 15, and it works pretty well, even with thick VG. I have the 2" needles, but wish I'd bought the 4", since the ones I have don't reach to the bottom of the bottles. And, the 4" needles are the same price.

The syringes I use are here (scroll down the page a bit). They're glass with a metal luer-lock tip and fused graduations (so they don't smear off on ya). The 1ml syringe has graduations of 0.02ml (1/50th of a milliliter) and is great for measuring flavoriings. I usually use a smaller needle for flavorings than I do for base liquids, because the needles are cheap to the point of being disposable and so I've got a bunch of them. And, flavorings are much lower in viscosity, so a higher gauge needle works with them.

For base, PG & VG liquids, I use larger syringes with the 15 gauge blunt tip needles. Hope this info helps someone.

I'd add some sound advice I saw offered by someone in another post: If you're not using blunt tipped needles, for safety's sake, blunt them yourself. Maybe a bit of sandpaper would do it for you. Avoid accidental sticking, blunt that sharpie.

My doctor used to give me the syringe with the needle removed when I got my vaccinations as a child. I guess that was a different time though. I thought they were the coolest thing in the world. They made very great squirt guns. I loved getting vaccinations. It meant I got to torment my siblings for a few minutes before it got taken away due to the water mess!

It was actually the double whammie I think that makes it even worse. I feel the same way about e-cigs, I'm saying the syringe ON TOP of that is crazy looking.

Not a huge deal, just definitely don't want someone to walk up to my desk at work and seeing me using needles, fluids and all kinds of contraptions.

Why would you take all that paraphernalia to work with you? You use them at home and just take a PV or two, and maybe a small bottle of juice when you're on the go.
