I see nothing wrong with doing what works.
Other than dripping, I used to be "stock". The carts with filler never satisfied me.
And then after a little while of use, I started noticing a bad flavor in my attys. I poked around and eventually found the dewicking thread and tried it. Solved the bad taste problem and removed scorched wick.
I've never chased a "better vape" but I have had some "issues" that I've tried to fix. There have been a few of them and in the end I'm not really "stock" anything now. All of my changes and adaptations have been solution focused. If I didn't need a solution, I woudln't have changed anything.

I secretly love messing with poly-fil because it's like a mini-job once a week for me.
I secretly love messing with poly-fil because it's like a mini-job once a week for me. It really IS about preference, though. Do what works for you, not for everyone else. I've my fair share of problems, but I have my own little routine, thanks to ECF and my local vaper friends. Everyone has their own "way", and you'll eventually figure out what works. I'll always love my attys/carts hehehe. Dripping, for some unknown reason, scares me. *ducks from the possible flying bricks* I don't know why, but I think if I met someone that dripped and tried it, it wouldn't be as scary.
