Here's an interview with AmeraVape owner and founder Erik Hutchinson. He talks about the controversies surrounding the popular Manhattan mod, including the situation the company had with Todd's reviews. He also answers several user-submitted questions.

More details and background info here.

A few things he didn't mention:
A.) Not all vape companies from China make clones. smok and Joye come to mind. (I know both have copied designs, but they come out with the manufacture logo.)
B.) Not everyone who vapes is American. And, being made in America does not make it better.
However, if they really do come up with reasonable prices, on a safe mod, I may bite.
Have to wait to see wht Todd says.

Another troll trying to revive another Ameravape thread, let the topic die... it's over.
I'll ask you the same thing I asked the other attention seeker on the other thread, do you need a hug?

If not, then please find other ways to attract attention to yourself.

If you're not interested, just move on. Why post??

If you care so much why not post on one of the other threads all over this forum about this company, and it's "controversy"? Do you really need a new thread?
Maybe you do to promote that website you link to (which happens to host the interview) ulterior motives?

Sigh .. where do I begin with this interview? Well, I can completely understand what he was saying about someone referring to his work as a "pipe bomb", and how the use of that term can create fear around his product, and why that would anger them, especially if that information is incorrect .. However, you do not redeem your own poor behavior, by throwing the other party involved under the bus.

There was no reason for him to imply that Todd also acted poorly, because it does not make Erik look better, not in IMO. I feel that was also a punk move. Just own your stuff, apologize if its appropriate, and keep it moving. I have no doubt that Todd can, or even may have also reacted in anger, and had some harsh words for Ameravape, but who wouldn't? If anyone comes at me with anger, harsh words, and threats, I am going to come right back at them in kind. According to Erik's partners explanation, Erik was drunk mailing Todd .. I would blast back too. There are very few people in this world who will meet an attack/threat with a smile.

With regard to his stance on clones ... I am not hearing any of it. Its very convenient for him to have now changed his position on clones, when most of the community knows full well that there was a time when he had no problem with them at all, and that he in fact was a clone user himself. His attitude did not change until he decided to go into business for himself. Talk to the hand

Clone or no clone, I am not buying his mod, nor am I buying anyone else's $250 mod .. Innovation? Get the hell out of here with that nonsense! Go invent something that actually benefits mankind, and improves his quality of life, and then we can talk about spending $250 on innovation. Right now the "innovators" of this World are focused on creating things that help the people of this world think less, do less, and spend more, which is truly no help at all. We have a world full of adults, and their children right now that can type the hell out of a text message, yet can barely compose a complete sentence, and a proper paragraph thanks to "innovation".

While vaping has helped millions to potentially improve their health, which does improve one's quality of life, there is not a single vaper in existence who NEEDS a $250 mod to do so. So yeah, they're not getting my support.

1) I didn't say I care about the issue. I just like to read about what's happening and other people's views.

2) there are other people who may have missed the other threads. Just because you saw several threads regarding this issue doesn't mean others have.

3) WHAT LINK!!!??? I don't see any link in my post. You got me confused..... Or are you confused?

Danny 4x4 didn't post anything, it was posted by rpadtv. He owns the website, so makes sense that he would put the video for the interview he conducted on it. No hidden agendas or conspiracy theories.

As far as it being over. If the guys from Ameravape had one shred of intelligence and or business sense, it would be. But if they can't keep their mouths shut, nobody else will either!

Me personally... I don't seek out the new updates to the soap opera, but when I come across them I appreciate them for comic value.

the un-elected vapor police have tied their undies in a bunch on this one. no we will not idly sit by and watch an internet drive by shooting from a bunch of barely literate punks that don't understand the issues involved. if Todd was here in the USA Ameravapes could take him to the cleaners.being an online reviewer doesn't protect you from defamation laws. all the other bs such as,they have a anti-clone campaign, they called their mod a competition mod,(very clever marketing) and the now legendary we found an old utube video showing this guy using a clone. well yada, yada, yada, whats your point.if you say,"i am holding a pipe bomb in my hand" back it up or shut up.there are very serious legal issues involved here. you can not hide behind free speech or opinion. my advice,if you are a self proclaimed reviewer with a lot of knowledge with a lot of followers is,popularity doesn't insulate you from defamation law.
its time for the e-cig community(i hate using the word community) to grow up.

As far as I'm concerned, there are absolutely no legal issues here. It's well documented that Todd asked for information on the venting several times. The company told him to pound sand. With that, he reviewed the one he had in hand. One he still says isn't venting properly.

The company acted like d bags from the first second, and have yet to stop. But because they have freedom of speech, they are certainly allowed to hang themselves with it.

it needs to be brought up over and over again because no self elected vapor police have a right to shove their un-provable bile down the throats of the rest of us.

^^^^ BS...Where do you live? Really, where does defamation laws fit here? Did Todd lie? Was he paid too? You CAN review something and call it like you see it.. Happens all the time. You cannot knowingly lie about a product. You can say how it works at the time of the review, and you can tell of problems you had, and you can say that you would not recommend a product based on that review. You can also say whether or not you contacted the manufacturer and what they did or did not say or do to try and resolve the problems. If you couldn't do this, mags like Consumer Reports, Consumers Digest, and about a billion blogs would all be sued outta existence.. not to mention 90% of the people that post here...

Really, show me where Todd went against law?

Raymond (RPadTV), the OP and interviewer and producer of the video, is not a troll. As far as I’m concerned, he’s posting about new and original content on a current topic in the community. He produced and shared with us an in-person interview with a controversial figure on a popular story, asking community-contributed questions. What exactly have you done for us lately?
