I can't even believe that I have been ripped off again! This time I tried to educated myself thru this forum. I went to a local shop so I could try the pv out first and hopefully get better customer service if I had any problems. Sam, the owner at American Smoke shop in San Marcos, CA assured me that his products were superior and that if I had any problems with anything that I purchased, that I could return and he would make it right. I tried and bought an Ego (my husband also bought one a week later). Well, I did have problems. Within 3 months I ended up with 2 broken chargers (1 within the first 2 weeks), 1 bad battery, and 1 battery that the button broke and I had to get creative to keep it working. Sam says to me, AND I QUOTE, "How do I know that you didn't drop the charger in water". So he refused to replace the charger and when a few weeks later when the battery failed, I had to also buy a new battery. SO, when the button broke on the second battery, my husband took all the junk we bought back to Sam and reminded him of his promise to "make it right" if we had problems. Sam told my husband that he never said that and that if he replaced every broken part for everybody that he would lose money. So what about all the money I have lost buying garbage that quits working? SMOKING WAS NEVER THIS HARD! All I want is a good pv that can stand up to heavy vapeing and that I only have to charge every other day. Am I asking too much?

My biggest fear is that stories like these are going to more prevalent. ImJan, I would hope that this experience doesn't deter you or your husband from continuing your quest. Look at the supplier forums here and read the experiences that people are having and talking about. There are plenty of veterans of vaping that read this forum and will jump in to guide you should you have a need for more information. Please don't let one a**hole turn you off.

Some of the better models have anywhere from full 2 year warranties up to lifetime warranties and get outstanding reveiws on this site after months or more of use. They do cost more but they really deliver, also.

One of the best is the 5 volt GLV2 with a lifetime warranty: Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid - Great Lakes Vapor

It's probably one of the best built PV's on the market.

Well, we have about $400 between us so far invested/wasted. I don't mind spending the money, just tired of getting ripped off. I'll check out your link. Thanks so much for posting it!

You won't be disappointe in the performance of the 5 volt GLV2. I would suggest you also get some blank cartomizers and some eliquid and fill the cartomizers yourself. Much better taste, much less costly and much more variety. For blank cartomizers I would look here:

Cartomizers

The GLV comes in 510 or 801 connector size.

Eliquid is very subjective. I would start out with 24mg nicotine strength liquid and then adjust it up or down based on your own needs. You can get some of the same flavor in 24mg and 11mg and then mix it if you want it a little lower. These suppliers have a large selection:

E Liquid - Original - E Liquid 5ML - PG - Tobaccos

You know, not everyone likes to vape at 5V! I wouldn't recommend that anyone buy it without trying 5V vaping first. Besides, for that price, you can get a lot of other neat stuff. The GLVs are BATTERY mods (think of them as 100 dollar tubes to put batteries in). Oh and QUOTE: "Batteries, atomizers, charger, cross-threading and abuse are not covered under this warranty."

Edit: Liberty Flights is a good company.

I've seen a lot of posts backing up liberty-flights.com, so they're probably a good choice. I've done my purchasing from mikeusa.com, Joye eGo kits with the mega atomizers, extra batteries, atomizers, chargers, and Dekang juice, and I have only good to say about them (fast and inexpensive too).

Atomizers clog and/or die, I've killed a few of those so far. None of my batteries have died, but I have a couple that have sticky buttons after extensive use. We've had one wall charger die after being dropped, but opening it and resoldering the connection fixed that. The thing is, sometimes stuff dies and all the parts of a PV/e-cig have to be considered consumables - but getting your money's worth counts.

Now I'm confused again. LOL It sounds good and I love the look but cheaper would be nice since I've already spent so much money! Liberty flights isn't far from me. In fact, I did call them once but they don't have a store, only online. I really would like to try it before I buy it. Guess thats not gonna happen.....I'll check out their website again. Thanks for your input!!!

Starting with an eGo is a good choice. It sounds like you have had a bad experience with a shop owner that has the wrong attitude. Do a LOT of research here at ECF, and then make an educated decision where to buy. I get all of my hardware from lbertyflights, esmokeronline, and vaporescence. They all have excellent customer service and good prices.
Atomizers can be cleaned. You can replace the fluval filler in the cartridges with blue foam.
All of this info is here. If it weren't for ECF, I would be smoking Winstons again...
I recommend backwoods brew for e-liquid.

Don't give up!

Giving up isn't an option! I LOVE vapeing! I just returned from Vapefest and I now own an ego-t with a low res atty and a drip tip. And I actually know what that is now. LOL So far I think I am set. I do however have some vape envy after seeing what some other vapors had at Vapefest. I see a mod in my future!
