I'm in the process of converting my roommate from analogs to e-cigs. He loves the concept and likes how they smoke. However he, like many of us upon switching over, is hesitant to lose his precious analog flavor. For him it was American Spirit Lights.

I saw over at FreedomSmokeUsa that they have an American Spirit e-liquid. Has anyone tried it? Does it compare? Does anyone know of any other Spirit substitutes?

Personally I am vaping a wide variety of flavors at the moment and am pretty certain that when he stumbles across one of my blends he too will want to distance from the analog taste. Until then though I think that he would have a much easier transition if he could find a decent substitute early...

Thanks in advance!

Here's my first impression. I have 50/50 pg/vg 24mg American Spirit flavor from FSUSA. Std. Joye 510 e-cig, atty freshly out of a soak in PGA, with a dry-burn.

This juice doesn't taste like a tobacco cigarette. I admit, I haven't had an AS for 3 months now, but I think I still have some idea what a pyro tastes like. This is a difficult flavor to describe -- it's quite unique, and has a slight sweet/tangy element to it. Not getting the usual caramel or nutty flavors which are typical of juices which are trying to mimic a tobacco flavor. Medium throat hit.

I'll let it sit for a week and try it again. 1st impression is it isn't something I'd order. Mellow Sunset or Freedomsmoke Specialty Blend are both much better for something similar to a smoking flavor. I have 2 other new (to me) FSUSA tobacco juices I'm sampling; Liquid Amber and Virginia. Unless I like either of them better, I'll be ordering 60ml of Mellow Sunset on the FSUSA Labor Day sale. (Check in the Seasonal Forum.)

ETA: I'm getting a bit of memory back here. I just tried the Amber Liquid flavor, and I'm wondering if it's supposed to resemble Yenidje or some type of Oriental pipe tobacco. Anyway, the flavor I'm getting from it is quite similar to the AS flavor. Still going to let the AS age and see what happens.

I bought a 5ml bottle of American Spirit from FSUSA and I love it. For me, the tobacco flavor is there, along with some nice earthy tones (how a wet field smells at night).

Once it ages, the flavors will get better and I'm sure will be closer to an AS cigarette. The Pall/Mall from FSUSA tastes exactly like a Pall Mall (my old brand favorite), so they definitely have some skill when it comes to representing brand name flavors in their liquids.
