I don't have a voltohm meter but I have heard about problems with Atlantis atomizers , and I've had it for about two months and it had done it once about two weeks after I got it, purchased a new vct4 and it has blown out three batteries in the last three days, it's like a runaway short where the battery gets to hot to hold and I can't hit the mod

Remove the hybrid cap and check if it has an insulator.

If it has one, make sure it is in good condition and not melted.

If it doesn't have one, do not tighten the hybrid cap to eliminate battery rattle as it will cause a short. You have to leave it loose.

Check your batteries for tears in the wrapper, especially the ends. Tears will cause shorts.

Check the 510 pin on the atty(s) you are using. If they do not protrude far enough out you will short when you screw them on the hybrid cap.

Do not tighten your atty(s) and try to make them sit flush on the apollo, they will short. Only tighten them until you feel slight resistance.

Check the screw on the switch. It must be tightened all the way down. It cannit be loosened to adjust for battery rattle.

These are what have learned using the apollo. Mine overheated once, that was because I screwed down my atty too far creating a short. Following the above before using my apollo, I have had no problems since.

Hope this helps.

I don't have an Atlantis, so we'll have to go with what was said above. If the pin is not adjustable, it more than likely is too short. I have a few attys like that and can't and won't use them on my apollo.

As for the insulator, make sure it is in one piece, not melted, deformed, etc. It's there to prevent direct shorts. Very easy to do in a hybrid since the battery is right there.

The only thing I will say on tears on the battery is that I make my own determination and either scrap the battery, or re-wrap it. Others may and will do what they want with tears....

Help me! I have an amerivape Apollo clone in black and gold and an Atlantis aspire tank at .6 ohm and it keeps blowing apart vct4 batteries left and right, am I doing something wrong or is it the mod I'm at a total loss

Evanguilbean, I don't have your hardware, but I have been vaping mechanical mods for about two years now. You've got some really great responses to this post now from a bunch of people who know what they are doing with this stuff.

Just wanted to add one thing. You are blowing apart VTC4 batts and so far you have not been hurt from that. Every once in a while when a good battery vents it burns or explodes. Please stop vaping that gear and figure out what is wrong before you continue. Until you know what's wrong and fix it, the same thing is likely to keep happening but the result could get nasty.

Best of luck with it and vape safe :thumb:
