Hey guys,
Since I have recently become obsessed with 1.7 ohm smoktech single coil cartomizers, I wanted a tank version almost right away. Al @ CDNVapor shared a mod idea he tried with me involving removing the pre-punched sleeve from a dead DCT carto and replacing that on a 1.7 ohm.
Well, I have done this to both of my sample cartos now and actually managed to get 5 days use out of the first carto that I thought was burnt.
Tools
device with a solid threading (Icon, Silver Bullet, Omega)
An elastic band
A rubber mallet
A pair of pliers
Method
1) Remove both of the sleeves from the cartomizers. I do this by grabbing the flange on the DCT carto with pliers and using the elastic for a grip on the sleeve itself. For the 1.7 ohm carto, I place it on my Icon and do a "breaking a pencil" motion to the connection and then wiggle the sleeve loose.
2) Carefully place the DCT sleeve on the 1.7 ohm carto with the punched side closest to the threaded end. Carefully slide the sleeve on so you don't bind up the batting and press the threads into the sleeve as far as you can. Then finish the job carefully with a mallet to have this as your finished product;
