I wonder how many of us here were ex smokers before taking up vaping. I've been an ex smoker for almost 3 years! I figured I was doing great. Didn't miss it. But something was missing. I seriously didn't feel like myself anymore. My personality was dull. I was fighting depression. Recently I was even beginning to consider smoking again.

Fast forward. A new friend is a vaper. I figured I might try it out.... I got me a 510 starter kit and a few flavours. I love it. I feel as if I'm back from a long hybernation. Sounds like an exaggeration, but that's how I feel. Hell, that's how my husband feels. He LOVES me vaping. He smokes the stinkies, only a couple of packs a week, so I took the liberty of getting him his own kit and he's switching over.

It might not be the best decision I ever made, but I'm ok with it.

Anybody else start up vaping as an ex smoker?

Awesome! Grats on switching your husband over.

Some things I recommend

Manual batteries (Joye 510 manuals are totally sealed metal on the threaded end - almost impossible to damage with a juice leak. And manuals make it easier to get a good hit. Also manuals will not turn on accidentally from wind or vibration. And on a manual battery you can use a drip tip on the atomizer to try new juices or vape occasional ones). At home I also like the Joye 510 mega xl manuals (60-70% more charge but quite long at 128mm w/ a cartomizer)

NoSMokeVA.com has a very nice roomy PCC for the small normal size 510. Search for PCC and the $29.95 one is the PCC alone. if you can't find one like that in Canada, there is a metal Joye PCC (not as roomybut functional)

To restuff atomizer cartridges, try the precut blue foam from strictlyejuice.com (search for foam). or the product they are cut from is Marineland Rite-Size U Bonded Foam Sleeve (an aquarium filter product)

Boge cartomizers. Slim ecigs use standard resistance (2.5 to 3 ohms). Most people end up vaping their favorite juices with cartomizers. They have limited lives but they keep the flavors totally separate, no atomizer to keep clean, hold more juice than a cartridge (though you do have to keep them damp to avoid singeing the stuffing). In general cartos provide a more consistent troublefree vape. I can get 10+ days use out of a Boge cartomizer with thin clear juices (PG with 20% or less VG and clear juices that don't drop a lot of carto-clogging flavoring sediment). NiteLiteVapor.us sells Boge standard resistance cartomizers in all 3 colors (black, white, tan) though most places only sell black. Some Canadian vendor should have Boge cartomizers.

The future - a 3.7v fat battery 510 devices or a 3.7v mod). These devices typically have 650mah or more of charge (slim 510 has 180mah) and since these devices are over 450mah they can use the hotter low resistance atomizers and cartomizers if you want.

Sorry - just noticed you are in Canada - you could check a Canadian vendor for Boge cartos.

And check if Amazon Canada has these or something similar to these to make charger easier:
4-port 2-amp USB to AC - you can charge 4 with assorted battery cables on one of these - one electrical socket to charge 4 batteries. The more international version is Rosewill RUC6181. Obviously more charging cables make life easier. I also have one charging cable at work for each model I use.
