I read the alan carr thing .... his quit smoking program has fairly high success for a lot of people. And he puts it together in a way that smokers with similar views or misunderstandings they may indeed find useful. The in clinic sessions provided, from what I read/seen sorta stumble on some cognitive behavior tactics that help as well. [that was from a psychologists review of it ... not mine]
In a nutshell ... what it really states, over and over again, is that the problems that smokers use cigarettes to solve, such as stress, etc. are created by using nicotine NOT because you don't have enough nicotine.
More simply, you use cigarettes to avoid withdrawal from cigarettes. Stop using cigarettes and the problem goes away. For some people ... who aren't thinking about it, that can be a revelation.
In fairness, nicotine is fairly subtle in what it does. Most times it`s barely perceivable.
Cigarettes only solve the problem they create.
