So, I can't seem to fully quit smoking. My mother smokes. My girlfriend smokes. I've tried converting both to vaping and neither are taking to it. My girlfriend even has her own Reo Mini that's collecting dust. She used it for about a day.

With that said, I can't stop smoking! Every day I'll have one or two cigarettes... even though they taste absolutely horrible. Marlboro Reds. Yuck...

What did you guys do to completely quit?

First of all give yourself credit for being down to only one or two analogs a day!!!!!!!!!!!yayyyyy you!!!!!! Secondly you have to want to give them up completely to succeed, maybe you are not ready to give up the last couple a day. I have been cig free for a little over 3 months and everyday I WANT an analog. But I do not want everything else that comes with them so I vape through the cravings, remove myself from the place I am that triggered the craving and vape on!!! Take time with yourself and try to figure out what really makes you want the 1 or 2 analogs and maybe you will find the answer to let them go..... Once again congrats on being so close to winning the battle over the analogs!!!!!!!

I was an "accidental quitter." I know some people get tired of hearing that, but it's true so just get over it. Anyway...

I wasn't planning on quitting, and I was still smoking while using Green Smoke. When I got my Riva, I just loved using it so much that I forgot about smoking. My fiance still indulges in cigs and hookah once in a while, but he can't smoke in the house. Not my rules, lease rules. LOL!

My advice to you? Take your girlfriends Reo and put the thing to good use! Buy some LR atties, get yourself some really tasty juice and vape your head off! If you're still vaping at 18mg or below, you might try bumping it up and see if that helps, too.

I'll be a full 5 months next week. What's made me say no (so far) to my husbands analogs and all my smoking friends is remembering how sick I got at about the second month of no analogs and I don't want to go through that again. I also like the freedom of vaping inside, not smelling like an ashtray, and being able to say I don't smoke. Envision your favorite things about not smoking and then think of all the bad things about smoking. But like anything else in life, you got a really want it. I still think about analogs, but I really want to be smoke free more.

In addition to the great advice here about vaping.. This is something I've done when I slipped -- If I'm going to buy a pack of cigarettes, it will NOT be the brand I used to smoke. I was a camel lights girl.. so when I caved in (hey, it happens!) I go with something even MORE gross, like Pall Mall or Newports.

But don't beat yourself up over it.. you're doing really well! Maybe up your nic, try out some new things (LR atties? cartos? maybe some dual coils?), and a few new juices.. And just stick with it.. Eventually you're going to reach for that cigarette out of habit and then realize what you're doing, and that you don't want to anymore.

Just stay interested, and keep everything STOCKED!

Best of luck!

Thank you everyone for the words of encouragement. Honestly, I've used the mini and I can't stand it. Its too tiny for me. I currently have a Grand that I use daily at 6 volts, with 24mg PG based juice. I also have a GLV3 on order and have been looking into an Innovapor Apex mod. Its not really a hardware issue as everything hits extremely hard, just... can't break the habit. There'll be times when I just reach for one and even if I ignore it and reach for my Grand, I don't feel satisfied even if I chain vape.

I am proud of myself though as I was a 2PAD smoker using Newport's and basically cut down to one overnight.

If you really want to quit dont put a time line on it. Id just make sure you got a few flavors you like and continue trying. Up your nic if you think that might be the issue.

It isn't easy, some had it easier than others but it's a process. You start by deciding you want to quit and you dont give up till you get there

I haven't completely quit either. But my thing is that I've only bought 2 packs of cigs in 3 months, and only smoked two or less a day of those. Most days I do not smoke. I don't do anything special. I just vape. When I do smoke an analog its in a pinch bcause I want the quicker hit of nicotine in a shorter period of time, and they taste like crap. That's how I avoid analogs I guess. I have flavors that I really really love.

At the moment my top 3 are FSUSA Camtel, TV Almond horn and Gourmet Vapor Orange Julius. When I want something really fruity I vape on FSUSA pink lemonade, and when I want something tobacco-y and powerful I vape on Wyatt earp.

I could vape 5ml of Camtel though. I enjoy that flavor so much that every puff is a treat to me. Maybe thats why I don't smoke many analogs.

There are many who vaped 36mg when they were still trying to quit. I would get a bottle of 36mg in something you like and one you also have some 24mg in so you can cut it if necessary. I know it's not only the nic that we crave but it might help. But you are doing well considering how you use to smoke. Although you have some good PV's, another option is a good variable volt PV because it allows you to fine tune any atty or carto to get the best performance from it and if it is one like the Darwin which has regulated boost circuitry, then it will also provide the best consistency.

2 PAD to one or two cigarettes! You should be proud and enjoy your accomplishment! :toast:
Just go with it and relax.
How long have you been vaping?
How strong is the nic juice you're using?

It took me 3 months to quit analogs and I'm still amazed that I'm not going totally insane with cravings. What really helped me was to find a PV setup and juice that are usually satisfying. Then I just slowly cut back on analogs until I was at one or two a day.

Finally I realized that for me it was all just a mental thing. I told myself that I was only having that first thing in the morning cig because it's what I've done every morning for over thirty years. I mulled that over for a couple of days and then just quit.

You really are doing a fantastic job, please recognize that and reward your self. What helped me, I told myself that I was not quitting smoking(not giving anything up) just changing brands. I repeated it over and over to myself, every time I had a craving. Goofy, yes but tricking myself so to speak really helped. Also after blowing over 400 on GS I wasn't about to give in that easily. You just have to put your food down. Good luck!

It'll happen.... forgetting to smoke. Give it time. Try varying your routine.

Oh, and give her a reo-mini and ... nothing. Women! Can't live with em, can't live without em................ (lol. <braces for spam/flames>) Try adding up your costs vs her costs.... to get her to think about it (but don't push... set an example)

Yeah your doing great. If you smoked more than two a day i'd say you might need the extra whole tobacco alkaloids found in something like snus or go to 30 or 36 mg juice. Ya have to want ta do it and learn to love vaping more than you loved smoking. Don't buy em, and tell your gal not to let you have any of her cigs. tell her ( famous line) If you love me you'll do it - or not do it in this case. Sit down with her and have a real heart to heart. chicks love that. tell her Baby if you love me please try to quit with me for our health so we can live a long time together, and have lots of babies and extra money for shoes and purses and motorbikes and our wedding and....you get the point.

Agreed. Nicotine is the major but only one of many alkaloids in tobacco. Some folks brains have a dependence on these too (though lets not also forget about all the other chemicals in commercial cigs). So ya maybe SNUS in the meantime. A way to ingest actual tobacco without smoking (or chewing...yuck).

But yeah in general I'd say ur doing great. I have cut down to about 1/2 a pack a day from a full. Its especially hard first thing in the morn and after a meal. They don't really taste that much worse to me either unfortunately so at least you have that going for you as well.
