After 20 years on the analogs I quit the same day I bought my 1st e-cig. I am in my 30's and was already feeling the health effects at that time, shortness of breath, chest tightness, wheezing that thankfully have all subsided since I started vaping. I feel like I dodged a bullet once.. I won't ever be willing to take that chance again.

I have no plans to quit vaping, but I don't feel that vaping has the strong grip on me that the smoking did so it could happen (or not :2cool:). If I have a meeting I don't start jonesing for my PV like I used to for a cigarette break.

Same for me. I'm 68 and if I ever have to quit vaping, I'm sure I can do it much easier than ciggies.

I started vaping back in early March, and within a week I thought analogs were nasty by comparison. To me, vaping is like "Smoking 2.0": everything I enjoyed about smoking plus much better health, more freedom, and more flavors! :D I vape probably twice as much as I ever smoked and have no intention of quitting.

I haven't had even the slightest desire to go back to analogs, even when I am around smokers. I just puff away on my PV while they smoke their analogs.

I have convinced a few people to try vaping, but most unfortunately only vape when they can't smoke. I think the fact that they can't just go to any corner gas station and pick up cartos or juice like they can a pack of smokes is the biggest obstacle for many people.

I think the industry has a bright future once a standard is settled on. Your average smoker isn't going to want the hassle of trying to sort out whether carto pack x is compatible with his PV. It has to "just work" before vaping will gain mass appeal.

i've been vaping for 4 weeks. (i don't count week 1, when i did both. if you do, then 5) i hope i never go back. it's kind of a hassle, but what isn't? i haven't converted anyone except for my husband, because i don't want to be responsible. i think it's a personal choice. plus, nobody likes a nag.

i think my husband is wanting to quit entirely. for me, i doubt i'll ever be able to cuz i'm way more addicted to nicotine than he is. i'm just a flat out junkie.

@ roxics, I've been going strong for over a year now. Haven't touched a death stick since day 1.
BTW, if you and your girlfriend want to meet some more vapers I'm having a MI. vapers BBQ out here at my place on June 25th. It will be our 5th meet and the first one with free smoked BBQ and craft beer. Here's the link to the thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/michigan-vapers/167640-first-ever-mi-vapers-bbq-works.html
I'm about 70 or 75 miles west of you depending on where you're at around the detroit area.
I've turned several people on to vaping over the last year. Some didn't really want to give up the stinkys and have gone back but a few have become ambassadors, of sorts, and two of them are selling kits and supplies now.

I've been vaping since June 24, 2009. I went back to cigs for a week last year when I ran out of atomizers and the order I had placed was delayed, but the minute they came in I went back to vaping and I'll make sure I won't run out again. My sis in law started about 2 weeks after I did and is still vaping with no going back to cigs. My best friend switched a couple weeks after that and only smokes when her vaping equipment goes out of commission (she tends to be rough on stuff so it doesn't last as long as it should), but she complains every time she has to do it and gladly goes back to vaping. So almost 2 years for the 3 of us and none of us wants to eve go back to smoking, or wants to give up vaping.

I've been smoke free for more than 16 months.

I know two people who quit smoking and quit vaping. One accidentally and one on purpose. Four people quit vaping or never completely switched and went back to smoking. All 4 started with 12 mg/ml. Two people are vaping and smoking. One is finishing off her stock of clove ciggs, the other got off to a really rocky start with atomizers and juice flavors.

Sounds like fun, though I'll have to get back to you on the possibility of attending.

roxics, have you and your girlfriend ever tried dripping?

That is what did it for me, after my first drops I began to prefer ecigs over analogs.

Oh definitely. I've tried nearly everything but high volt. In fact I've got a lizzle rizzle tre aught six waiting in my mailbox at home right now. ;)
