Anatomy of a cartomizer

Just wanted to clarify on what a cartomizer should have and where they should be. First the components: wire/coil, tube, wick and filler. I know these are names I came up with, but are they just about right?

Next, would be the proper location - specifically regarding the wick and tube. Some carts have the wick inside the tube and others outside, packed with the filler. I get a burning taste faster when the wick is on the inside of the tube. Should it be outside packed with the filler?

I think they are supposed to be inside with a loopy kind of wire coming out into the filler? At least that is what it looks like to me. Anyone with a good camera zoom care to take a pic so we can look?

All mine also look like a wire coming out the tube, then hooked over the edge, probably to keep it stationary. But I haven't torn one to pieced yet...

The cartomizers I tore apart have the wick behind the tube. The insulated wire, which connects to the wire raped around the wick, goes threw the center of the tube to like airpowers said to keep it centered. Keep in mind im not an engineer or electrician, so dont take that as gospel.
