Yellow - wraps everything inside it. Its the "fluffy" filler
Green - wraps everything inside it. kind of like teabag paper
Red - the wire. thicker one is the wire you see looping down to the center
Red(thin) - the heating coil wrapped around a stiff "string" made of fiber
Top Box - fiber tube. i think is made of the same material the coil is wrapped around.
Bottom tube - metal

gray line - line of sight. when you look in to the hole
White area - open space

I managed to remove the filler and the wick while keeping the coil intact.
turns out that the filler(yellow) is a sheet of fiber rolled around like a roll of paper towels. I found the edge and tugged on it gently till it came out.

Same thing with the wick(green). its wrapped around the coil. with the filler out of the way, I unrolled it while still in the carto. dont know what kind of material it is. It felt like cloth. maybe someone can find out?

Anyway, both filler and wick had a big hole burned through. I tossed the filler and kept the wick. folded it a couple of times and slipped it back in the coil side. dripped 6 drops of liquid to soak the wick and now I'm vaping on a filler less carto. :D:D:D:D

can you show me how your looks like? I'd like to know the difference.

Anyways, I gutted a cart to mod it. for something I'm making :D

Wish I could but I didn't take pictures. My carto was much more compact in it's construction with a center tube that is rather difficult to explain.

If you can pry the battery end off an old carto you can see it by carefully peeling back the various layers. KC had a good explanation of the various materials around here somewhere and was much better at the visualization/description than I could be.

Do you have the link to it? or KC's full forum handle so i can do a search for it?
