one week I been vaping on this thing and its dead. would barely make any vapor today so i decided i should try to clean it, ran it under some hot water, blew it out and proceded to dry burn it. it was just making some gurgling sounds, not even any red on the coil yet and then just died. am I just the unluckiest guy in the world?

Yes rob, you certainly do seem to be. Goodness gracious, what the heck are you vaping? Battery acid,lol? Well, as much as I love the visions, not everything is for everyone. It may be time to quit the visions for you.

what voltage are you dry burning these at? if you are using a fully charged batt that is reading 4.2 u will burn one in a hurry. if you are using an epower.or any ego/clone, they will start at 4.2 and go down. anything over 3.7 and you may pop one. it is either that or your batt has some sort of short somewhere that is surging the coil. i dont know cause as ive said many times before i cant kill one.... one im vaping right now has been dry burned 11 times now at 3.3 volts on my provari. also they dont glow red right away....takes me 20 plus cycles of 5 second bursts to get it to start glowing, 20 more till its clean how i like it
Wow rob; I don't get it. I've been using 4 Visions every day that i got in October. Cleaned and dry burned each one probably 8-10 times.
battery last night was a half charged regulated original riva. 3.2 volts. the juice i'm using is 80-20 cherry limeade from blue mist vaping. I switched to that from red hot cinnamon because the cinnamon just gunks up the coils very fast, maybe this stuff is gunking them up quickly too.
i'd be happy if the vision would last a month. I just ran it under hot water for like a minute, blew it out a bit and let it sit for like 30 minutes. then I started dry burning it. maybe it was too far gone because the coil should have started glowing red.

it takes a while for the coil to glow red. mine doesnt start glowing red for up to 5 minutes.....and thats not on even a highly gunked coil. everything has to be burned off(including any remaining water) before it starts to glow red. sounds to me you arent popping the coils but just not going at it long enough. its supposed to sizzle its supposed to smoke.
I've been refraining from dryburning as long as possible as they don't seem to make it through the process, but I could give that a whirl, i got a vision giant that I'll try tonight, i'm sure i'll be burying it a few minutes later

its possible its the juice, maybe the juice is too sweet, I'm probably going to have to go back to hypermint as it seems to be less gummy. I been using this juice as I figured it was better than the cinnamon for gunking stuff up, but maybe not.

Yes...I'm so sorry, Rob, I don't even know what to say. You have my sympathies, buddy. But there has to be a reason for this, i just have no clue what it might be. Being of scientific inclination, I'd think some experimenting is in order, but I wouldn't know where to begin, since you seem to be doing everything right.
I use heavy sweet juices, clean the Visions about every three fills (the only thing i do different is I soak them in vodka), and haven't had one pop on me yet (knock on wood). I just don't know...
The only thing I can think that I do different is dry them COMPLETELY before dry burning??? Of course I AM the nut job that uses a heater to do this. I also use a sonic cleaner but that isn't every time. Color me confused rob.

i dry burn right away without drying....i just flick out as much water as possible and go at it.
Yeah, I don't dry them either. Just flick, blow and go. To the point where the first five to ten drags are mostly water. I have no patience. lol

i dryburned my vision giant last night, its still working, I was very gentle though. I dryburned a fluxomizer last night too, I didn't dare do what I did to the fluxomizer to the vision. I just let the vision glow a little red a few times and filled it back up. the flux i can really dry burn without fear.
That is all you should do. Never let it glow orange. Just gently burn off the build-up to a char. You're not trying to boil water with it.
usually I glow them for about 4 to 5 seconds, I do that like 5 times or so. at any rate, the vision actually lit up the whole coil last night, the other couple times when i did visions, it was lighting up like one part of the coil and thats it.
You do seem to have an Abundance of Problems.
Maybe Filler Type Cartos is more your speed?
