Hello all soo I just wrote out a super informative and heartfelt intro and apparently I hadn't signed in yet so it all got deleted.. So here goes again lol

I decided to do an intro since I saw a lot of them after creating an account and thought I'd introduce myself.

Well I was a 5 year smoker when I picked up my first e-cig, about 3 years ago. It was love at first sight! I started with a cigalike at first and now I have an itaste v3. I'm now considering getting a mechanical mod, since I've been making my own coils and the v3 can't quite keep up. Not sure which mech mod yet but looking into it. I'm almost positive I'm going to get an ipv3 since I'm used to regulated devices and the ipv3 holds two 18650s! I most certainly won't use it to its full potential but never the less it's appealing to me.

I hope talking about these advanced mods isn't inappropriate for the new members forum but I wanted advice on the topic of pros&cons/strengths&weaknesses of mechanical mods vs regulated. So please feel free to chime in about the subject, opinions are welcome.

So the good ol Mechanical vs Regulated battle LOL.
First off what a regulated device is: This device can be either VV ( variable voltage) or VW ( variable wattage ) and sometimes both. The beauty of it is you get the power desired and until the batteries run out of juice you will receive that desired power the same every hit, and most of them offer short protection which is a great benefit. Now a mechanical device: Will give you the raw power of the battery ( 4.2v full ) when you press the fire switch. The downfall to this is as you continue vaping the quality of that vape dissipates until the battery is dead, and no short protection. I bet your wondering why anyone would use these still? Depending on your build you can draw as much as 40+ amps and well over 150w of power which was well over any regulated device at that time. Now there's a boat load of regulated devices that can do just that and keep that first hit quality.

Now as to which one to get. I say regulated hands down. I'm not a mechanical mod basher believe me all i have are mechanicals but i'm going to be getting a regulated here soon for the reason explained above. Welcome to ECF. I did the same thing with the intro until I found the box to stay logged in. I think a regulated device is a wise choise if for no other reason than the safety features they possess.
