The Diameter is the target diameter of the coil not the wire. So if you are going to wrap around a 2mm drill bit to make the coil then use 2mm in that field.

Now if you change the wire type, gauge, or resistance on page 1, the length of the wire will be automatically recalculated and sent over to the first field of page 2. It then also recalculates the number of wraps needed. The diameter field will only change when you change it based on what you are going to wrap around.

Sweet!
Very nice Work Bro!

And a damn useful App!!

A new version has been released. The new version fixes a bug that caused a Force Close when loading in countries that use a comma to separate whole numbers from decimals. Also added a new Conversion tool that can convert inches to mm and back as well as convert fractions to decimals.

I am planning on the next release to add in support for saving and loading profiles, so you can get your settings just right for a particular build and save them so you don't have to re-figure it all out every time.

I can't do web based since I don't have a server to host the code on. Most free hosting sites don't allow actual program code, just basic html and minor preapproved scripts and widgets. I could pay for a host, but I can't offer this for free if I have to pay for a host.

I am considering an iPhone port but I do not know anything about iOS development...so there will be a learning curve if I do it. As mentioned I am working on what should hopefully be the last release of the Android version for a while and then I will take a look at the iOS side.

If i use a 1/16 drill bit, is the diameter 1.6?

Actually no. If you divide 1/16 you get .0625 If you have version 2 you can scroll all the way to the right (page 4) and there is a fractional calculator there for that very purpose. Also the default unit for the diameter is mm so to use inches make sure you set that in preferences.
