A new version has been released. The new version fixes a bug that caused a Force Close when loading in countries that use a comma to separate whole numbers from decimals. Also added a new Conversion tool that can convert inches to mm and back as well as convert fractions to decimals.

I am planning on the next release to add in support for saving and loading profiles, so you can get your settings just right for a particular build and save them so you don't have to re-figure it all out every time.

am downloading now - very cool - thanks!!
any chance you got this on xda (general android thread) for some debugging/feedack?

Looks and sounds awesome.. Alas I don't have an android device. Would love to see an iPhone version, or even better, a web-based version that could be used on any platform!

So this sounded too good to miss out on.. I downloaded the genymotion android emulator and now have it running on my laptop.

Great job - I'm sure this will prove invaluable to me (and most vapers who build their own coils).

Thanks :)

This is a great app thanks for making it.

Also do you think you can add twisted kanthal like 32+32 gauge wire twisted?

I will consider that, in the mean time you can already get the right numbers. Twisting two wires is essentially a dual coil. Select the dual coil option, cut both wires the same length that is specified and twist them as normal. That will be the correct length for the resistance. The number of wraps on the coil builder page will likely be a bit too high though due to the diameter of the wire changing. So in this case you might need to subtract 1 or 2 wraps most likely.

If you are going to twist 3 or 4 wires then select triple or quad coil.

BTW tried this a few times and as far as the coil building section, excellent. The ohm's law calculator is kind of clunky though.

I am DEFINITELY interested in feedback. If you have a suggestion to improve it, please do not hesitate to send me a detailed PM or reply here...I will get the PM faster. :vapor:

I plan on just using the app to find what I want, I currently use single, dual and quad coils and plan to twist kanthal for them all is why I suggested it.

Atm I would just select dual or triple for each wire then coil it and check them individually for the ohms then put them in a dripper and again check the ohms, atm I am testing everything I can to find my best setup so I can just make that only and not make a setup I wont like, for instance I have 2 tridents setup atm 1 is single coil the other is dual and I like the single better but I have a smoktech octopus rda dual coil I like better then the trident dual so as you can tell I have many setups and have tried them many ways but still haven't found what I am looking for.

In that case just select single for single, dual for dual, etc. then to account for using twisted wire double your target resistance. This works because if you are shooting for 0.8 ohms and put in 1.6 then cut two wires the same length and twist them, they will be 0.8 ohms.

If you are doing a quad coil and want 0.8 ohms, select quad and put in 1.6 for the target resistance and then cut 8 pieces instead of 4 twist them together in pairs and you will end up exactly where you wanted. Again when using twisted wires the number of wraps portion might be slightly off.

Now you have this song stuck in my head lol

Yea good at math just wanted to give you this idea gl with the app it is awesome, another thing that would be cool is making a custom themes since I like dark colors.

Edit: crap played the song forgot it was on while writing my post, now it is stuck in my head.....

Only problem I have is inserting the numbers. First time I used it I punched in the numbers without clucking the next or done button. Well all the stats stayed like I didnt push anything. After I figured out I cannot just punch in a number and click the back button all is well. Great job on the app!

Yeah I know, it was a design choice versus a performance choice. I could have used a calculate button, but I didn't like the look and it felt more clunky. So I have to use key events to determine when the field was changed. Now it only calculates when the "Next/Enter/Done" key is pressed. If I just did it off of any key then it would be calculating many times more than it needs to.

For instance, lets say the target Resistance is set for 2.4 and you want to change it to 1.8. As you backspaced to erase the 2.4 it would calculate 3 times, then 3 more times while you typed the 1.8 (one calculation for each key press).

The calculations are not complex and take a fraction of a millisecond on my Galaxy S3 so I may consider making it work on every key press in the next release. Thanks for the comment.

Looks like a good app, but was just wondering why it needed these permissions?

This app has access to these permissions:
Network communication
full network access
view network connections

It's just a calculator right, why does it need network access?

:vapor:

Like all free apps, it is ad supported.

Like all free apps, it is ad supported.

Most long time Droid users don't mind the ads, but you could offer a PRO version for a fee that would be add free and remove the permissions, if someone was bugged about it...

Might eventually make enough to pay for a new Provari

Great app. If you could change between metric and US measurements it would be even greater though ;-)

You can in the settings. You can even choose to the US/Metric for lengths and diameters individually. So if you want wire length in US and want to wrap a 2mm coil you can.
