That's what my cat does, he actually likes the vape He will follow it and stick his face right in it. I do make my own and go light on the flavoring.

Have to look into that pg vs cats thing now :( .... ....

OT ~ I thought vaping didn't leave a film?? Guess I'll have to vape into a mirror/glass and find out once and for all...

Take a mouthfull of vape and blow it into a clear glass, There will be a film after the vapor dissipates.

For what it's worth we have three cats. They all hate cigarette smoke and won't stay around it, but are pretty indifferent around vapor unless I'm vaping a pungent flavour they don't care for. It's mostly mints and menthols they don't like, which I don't think cats like in general. (Except catnip, which is a member of the mint family, but that's real stuff, not simulated. And anyway I haven't found a catnip vape. :))

I wonder what soaking catnip in VG for a week then vaping it would do to the cats...

i have 4 dogs, and i have one in particular (my english bulldog) that cant stand the smell of my PV's. when i let him sniff one, he makes this nasty face and will nip and bark at it. but i have 3 other chihuahua's and they could care less. doesnt seem to bother them at all... none of them have gotten sick from them at all.

The active ingredient nepetalactone, can be extracted by steam distillation, but it would distill down to an essential oil which wouldn't be vapable. Which is probably for the best as my cats are terrible at remembering to charge their batteries...

I know that birds can be more sensitive to things, my dogs could care less...

"The respiratory tract of birds is extremely sensitive to toxins in the air because of its unique anatomy. It is extremely efficient in exchanging gasses in order to provide very high levels of oxygen to the muscles for flight. While delivering oxygen so efficiently, it can also deliver toxic gasses. In addition, the small size and high metabolic rate of birds increases their susceptibility to airborne toxins. Birds, often canaries, have historically been utilized as sentinels for toxic gasses in coal mines because of this increased sensitivity."

I have an older cat with chronic respiratory problems. (The one in my avatar) He will climb into my lap and stick his face into the vapor cloud. He has also tried to steal my PV. :) The vape actually seems to help dry him up.

I am aware that two much PG is bad for their kidneys. He is of the age though where I would rather see him happy then worry about it.

I also notice that there are flavours he loves and ones he hates. Just like people.

Over all while a lot of vaping is a possible risk to their kidneys Smoking is also known to be a cause of certain cancers in cats.

now that I don't stink like cigs, my cats are way more affectionate to me. I get napped on regularly now, have more foot warmer time and they don't take off after 3 minutes of snuggling on the couch or bed. I haven't seen anything negative health wise with them since switching, so Meow! >^. .^<

My female minpin went through withdrawal just like I did. Only difference was, she lost her coat. She suffers from allergies and from not breathing in smoke, it triggered it in the worst way. My vet couldn't figure out what was causing such a drastic allergic reaction. She asked me if anything in the house had changed. I told her no at first. She left to go get her her steroid shot and when she returned, it dawned on me. I told the vet I had quit smoking and started vaping. She put the needle down and said that she was detoxing and that's what triggered the hair loss. She gave me some special shampoo and ointment. I also got an antihistamine blocker for her. After a couple of days, I started to see stubble coming back. Poor thing, I never dreamed what I was doing to all of my pets while I was a smoker. That was over a year ago. She's been a happy pup since and hasn't had any allergy attacks since whereas she used to get one every season change. As for my other 5 dogs, no health problems. I also have 5 cats that could care less what I do as long as they are in my lap. I don't blow vapor at them because PG isn't good and that's what I vape the most. So for other than one pup, no problems here in over a year.

Stop kicking the dog when you get home from work...

Ya right! she would rip my toes off, she looks cute and innocent, but try to take away the chicken carcass she dragged out of the garbage and you are in for a fight :) Or a corn on the cobb for that matter!

Hey guys, i am just curious if anyone has noticed their pets getting sick or acting different while in the room you are vaping in? Is this even a possibility? My little minpin has been sick lately, but when i am gone to work she seems to perk up and feel better then back to being miserable when i am home vaping, maybe she just doesnt like me :( lol I am wondering if breathing it in may be harmful for her.....
Nothing happening here with my cats and dogs. But they were sick when I smoke analogs.

My wife's two cats habitually (and irritatingly, though they are fuzzy adorable little critters) crawl into bed with me when I'm reading. I just lay there and puff up a nice cloud of vape for hours and they don't seem bothered at all.

Of course, nicotine may be an issue? Or perhaps an allergy, like many humans have?
