i've noticed a couple different things that don't make much sense with this thing. for one, when charging the batteries in the pack, the led on the side lights up for about 5 seconds, then start blinking or intermittently turning on and off, i charged the pack last night and it did indicate it was fully charged. another issue i've noticed is if i pull too hard on the e-cigs, the led shuts off and i get no vapor or it intermittently turns on and off and the amount of vapor is random at best. sometimes i get no vapor at all. another issue is the USB charger is red when charging, but it also randomly blinks blue. nothing in the user manual describes any of this crap.

Many ecigs have a safety cutoff, especially auto ones since they can turn on accidentally in wind of vibration. Some ecigs have a too-short cutoff like 5 seconds and some allow a longer drag with cutoffs as high as 10 seconds or no cutoff.

Inconsistent drags is typical of auto batteries. You pretty much have to take 2 drags to get one decent drag on an auto unless it is warmed up. Most here use and recommend manual batteries which make it easier to get a good hit every time and are harder to damage or kill with juice leaks.

----
if you want slim cigarette look with longer cutoff, try Joye 510 MANUAL and use Boge 3 ohm cartomizers on it for a cigarette with filter look. NiteLiteVapor.us sells Boge standard resistance (around 3 ohms) cartomizers in black, white and tan. You will be filling the cartomizers and I do not recommend VG which is generally too thick to work well unless thinned with distilled water. Vg also dulls flavors and hit and nicotine irritation while adding more visible vapor. I use blends like 80PG/20VG for plenty of nicotine hit and flavor and a bit of nice vapor. Charleston ecig has a nice roomy PCC for 510. NOTE Blu and 510 have the same threading but they will fry each other with their chargers because Blu is reverse electrical polarity.

If you want something stronger with a long cutoff, look at the V4L.com models (KR808D-1) that state a custom 10+ second cutoff. Ther cartos can get a bit hot on the lips so I use a plastic or delrin drip tip as a mouthpiece instead of the end cap of the cartomizer. Some very nice cartos you can use that are cooler on the lips due to their horizontal coil are the cartos from SmokelessImage and Bloogplanet so try those too (note their batteries have a 5 second cutoff as do most other KR808D-1). This is a stronger warmer running ecig than 510. On KR808d-1 manual use a standard resistance DSE901 atomizer and drip tip to test juices.

OR if you really want to kick up your experience then skip slim ecigs and go to 450mah+ fat battery models and mods since they can use low resistance (lower ohms) cartomizers and atomizers.

never mind. turns out the cartomizer was busted. put in a new one and got perfect results.

customer service gave me $2.50 for the busted cartomizer to add to my next purchase. i have another question though, can you use other cartomizers with this thing? if so where can i get them? i started using e-cigs a few days ago but i'm used to using smokeless tobacco which gives you about 6mg of nicotine at a time vs the 1mg of cigs, so i find myself having to take like 20 drags off of this thing to get a good buzz. i'm already using the max dose blu offers. sure it smokes and feels like a cig with the same nic content but it doesn't give that good slam dip does without me using a bunch of the juice up. so basically i need a cartomizer thats about 2x as strong.

Are you freakin kidding brandon? I get ripped for liking slim models. I vape BOTH manual 510 and manual V4L (KR808D-1) all day. Vaping both gives me more battery life. I carry both, each with a spare charged battery and have chargers at work. I love them - I can drop the pair in my jeans pocket and have 2 contrasting carto flavors ready to grab. I carry a PCC for one model and a charged Riva 510 battery or 3.7v box mod as a backup and for if I want a bigger drag out of the 510 cartos.

At home I use the bigger batteries more but I still vape the slim ones.

The "High" level nicotine of Blu is only 18mg and they do not sell a higher level in their replacement cartomizers. The disposable Blu ecigs are 24mg. I am using 24mg (analog free 2 weeks now) and it is working great. 18mg did not work for me on a test run at first. Also, vaping does not deliver nicotine the same way that smoking does. And, you do not get a "buzz" from vaping like smoking. I miss that buzz too, but found out much of it isn't just from the nicotine, but many of the chemicals in death sticks, as well. : o

To be honest, if you want a solid vaping experience I would suggest you get a KGO type of system. Here is one I wish I would have bought (much better price then my Pig Cig).

yeah i originally used the disposable and it did hit a bit harder. so i'm guessing you cannot use something like this with a blu?

I don't like the Blu, long story.... Let's just say it's like paying $25 for a hamburger that is smaller and less tasty than something you'd get on the Wendy's value menu.

For half the cost of a Blu starter kit you could have gotten something like an eGo with a ton of money left over for juice and cartos. The batteries for the Blu stays on the charger more than it stays in your hand.

Volcano Cartomizers fit perfectly and will work fine on Blu batteries. I used this setup for 4 months or so. Buy the blank ones and you can use any liquid you want. In my experience I got mixed results using the volcano cartomizers, as some would work great and last for 8-10 refills, and some would start out great but start to get a really tight draw and low vapor after 2 refills. This seems like a good option for you if you must stay with the Blu, but I would also recommend upgrading to a 510 or eGo type PV. I upgraded to an eGo with DCC cartomizers, and I am much happier now.

That would be "correct".

It might work, as it might vape, but it would kill the battery.
The small 90 mAh of the Blu batt would be drained really fast.
This also doesn't take into acount the damage that might occur in the circuty in the battery (moffset switch I think).
2.5 ohm and lower should only be used on 450 mAh or higher batteries.

The 306 standard resistance carto (3.0 ohm) works and fits into the Blu pack but I've had some issues with these screwing on all the way in the past.
510 cartos (agien, 3.0 ohm) will work, but look funny on the Blu, but they do not fit into the pack all that well.

Oh man a dual coil on those little Blu batteries..... Take all of what 2 drags (as opposed to the 5 you normally get) and ahve the battery die out.

The short battery life on the Blu and saying it is equal to a pack of cigs is so so wrong. If that were the case I would have been a 5-10 pack a day smoker.

Glad I found an eGo or it would have completely turned me off to vaping.

Also that being said the Mistic, (bad taste and expensive refill carts) had a battery life that blew away the Blu. Only bummer with them was that the threading didn't fit anything else on the market. For under $30 would have gotten everything but a PCC. And teh batteries lasted just about all day with ultra uber heavy vaping.

Once I liked the Blu dispossable I called them up and found out the cartos they sell with their kits only go up to 18mg and I passed. If you are wanting to stay with the Blu (they do look cool and have a nice PCC) then you should order some empty cartomizers from Blu and get eLliquid that you like with 24mg.

If you got the 100 Super starter kit, you might be okay for a while. If purchased one of the older Blu starter kits then you might get frustrated with the batteries, etc...if the Blu isn't doing it for you atter you get some 24mg in that thing, I say cut your losses and get eGo or such....IHMO

I got my start in vapeing with a blu starter kit (it was a gift) and had many of the same problems you are having. Looking for solutions I found these forums and all the wonderfully helpful members here. After some research it seemed the blu just wouldn't be able to live up to it's promise. I made the switch to a Joye 510 manual PCC starter kit because it looked like it would be able to do what the blu failed to and I couldn't be happier. I considered the eGo, but after almost 2 decades of having a cigarette pack in my pocket I knew deep down inside the familiar form factor would ease the transition and the 510 threading fit in with an upgrade path. I was able to use the rest of the blu cartos on the 510 batts (there's a small difference in diameter between the 510 batt and blu carto) which worked fine before switching over to the Boge cartos with different juices. That's just my :2c:, but with a little research and all the helpful advice you'll get here will get you lined up with a vapeing solution that will best fit your wants and needs. Happy vapeing.

Good analogy!
I made it 3 weeks on the DSE (small ecigs) but battery life killed it for me.
Get a device that will let you vape all day- something with at least 650mah- or 1000mah if you were a heavy smoker!
