Another 18650 mod

Just to be clear about everything here. It was kinda like building a ship in a bottle.
It's an 3600mAh 3.7v 18650 boosted to 5v with a TI booster and a MOSFET for switching in a 7/8" ID lexan tube with a 6 ml juice tank around a modded C-E2 v4 standard 3 ohm carto and a custom mouth piece. I will add vinyl skins latter. kicks like a mule, and lasts all day too.

How do you get up the minus from the battery up to the booster?

door bell wire. the end cap unscrews to change the battery. I can't cut threads so I buy them,,, well kinda. The threads are from kitchen faucet parts

Well yea,,, You should have seen the 'ol guy at Lowes when I ask him for "one of dees thangs here,, that screws into one of dem thangs there,,, but with a cap on the end so that no water can come out. He said that in all his years he ain't never had anybody ask for one to do that. Why don't ya just fix the leak he said. Hell they had test fittings that didn't have a hole in it to see what size you need,, He wouldn't sell me that part.


I wound up driving an alum rod in the hole and polished it up (so that no water could leak out).

This mod is definitely one I'd take on a plane Gummy, you got any links for the kitchen sink parts? I've seen garden hose caps that look nice but have a much larger thread pitch (saber touch caps). I thought it was press fit from looking at the 1st pic. Is the cap two-tone with a ~2mm hole filled with the rod? If you left it open it looks like you'd have a good battery vent.

Nah, drop it into a 1 quart Ziploc and you'd be allll good. They can see everything and will feel relaxed about it.

I wasn't trusting of the system, so I broke my mods down to their elementary parts in ziplocs in my checked bag and only carried my ego on board.

In the plumbing section where the sink repair washers are. There is a selection of faucet parts that you put a SS screen in and screw onto the end of the faucet. They conveniently come is about 6 or 8 different sizes. I ground the knurls off one end and pressed it into the lexan to get the female threads. the mate with the male threads I filled with the alum. and screwed the spring to that. The sink parts are chrome plated brass that I cut through (this is the gold color) the center is alum. So yes it is 2 tone. Because the one end is just pressed into the lexan if the battery goes stupid it will just pop out so no vent should be needed, and I can change the battery in nothing flat.

I do need to go back in and put a resistor across the Adj. and Vout on the booster to drop it some the 5volts is a bit too strong for me.

How would this be for a skin?

That's it. (well half of it anyway) I cut it just behind the inner flange then opened the flange to fit the battery and cut the OD down to size. Instant threads. now if I could just find a pack of adjustable holes.

Very nice looking mod, even though its see through, I still cant make out every thing in there.LOL

I hope you saved the ss mesh. You get a great TH with it. Eats up the juice big time though.

In picture 1, is that a barrel cap on top of the booster?
