There's a news report that an e-cig caused a house fire in Phoenix:
E-cigarette nearly sparks fire at Phoenix apartment - CBS 5 - KPHO
From the article:"Monday morning, as he and his wife slept, the overloaded battery to his e-cigarette plugged into the wall caught fire. A smoke detector woke them up."
There's not a lot of information in the article. From the photos and from the brand's website it looks like it was a standard Ego model. Without more information, nothing is certain, but it seems highly likely that the cause was either a defective battery cell, IC chip, or defective charger.
This is the problem with the explosive growth of small factories here in China. Currently there are somewhere around 300 little micro factories churning out ultra cheap low quality e-cigs. And of course, there's been a corresponding growth in small retail companies here in the US buying from them, largely sight unseen. A lot of our competitors have absolutely NO idea what quality their factory is, or what quality components they use.
That's why I am here in China, because Bloog is committed to ensuring quality first and foremost. We only deal with the best quality manufacturers, and we make sure they use the best quality component suppliers. That's our responsibility to you, and we take that VERY seriously.
