So, today as I am driving to my doctors appointment, I see a new B&M opened up right down the block. So I figured I would stop in after. It was a 45 min before they opened but the owner seen me and opened the door. I was looking for a new charger and they had the one I wanted for a good price. He was very cool and helpfull. Being the avid vaper I have become I noticed that all his prices were marked and very reasonable, especially for a storefront. I have been to many that are popping up around here that are hipster hangouts and I feel they feed off these youngsters with cash in hand and sell crap knockoffs for double or triple the price. Any way I just wanted to say I am glad that a good place opened up shop by me that I actually feel comfortable with for shopping for unneeded new toys. I hope this store succeeds and stays true to my first visit experience.:2cool:

Yeah, I just figured I through It out there to catch some attention It looked like worked. I buy online most of the time because its easy and cheap. Now I really don't have to and have that instant gradification. along with being able to see what I am actually buying insted of reading reviews. The rant part was about other shops around.

Great. Hope I find one soon also. Tired of USPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today, you got a charger you wanted, Today I'm sitting on my .... watching my Tracking Not Moving!!!!! For A Week!!!!

( Aren't Rants=complaints??)

Call USPS! I just had the same thing happen, tracking didn't move for 8 days. So I called, and they did an investigation. They followed up, and the package was delivered the next day. Too bad you have to complain to get them to deliver, but sometimes it's the only thing that works. I think if I hadn't called about it, my vapemail would still be floating around in California.

I too am forced to make most of my purchases online which is for the most part fine. What I feel I am missing out on is a sense of physical community. There is one vape shop in my area which I visited a couple of times during the run up to Deeming Regs. I was attempting to encourage them to display some CASAA media in their store and even offered to help them set-up an online FDA comment station. They were very much against the idea. That attitude coupled with a rather thin selection of merchandise has kept me from returning. Rumor has it that a new shop has opened one town to the east of me. I plan to stop in, introduce myself, and maybe buy a battery or a bottle of juice. It's not as though I really need either of these items but I would be happy to buy them there in order to contribute to their success and meet some local fellow vapers.

That's awesome that you found a good B&M nearby. I have one right around the corner from my house, and it was my go-to for juice until I started DIY last summer. I wandered into mine today - was looking at coil prices and to see what "goodies" they might have.

5-pk of OCCs was TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS  MVP30 was NINETY DOLLARS

I want to support local businesses, but 100% markup (and then some??????)

I'd gone in there with my Sigelei Zmax V3 last fall. The guy behind the counter was "impressed". Pulled out the clone they were offering for $50-60. However, they have the Subtank Mini in stock and it's "only" $45 (which is about $10 more than what I'm seeing for online prices....)

I realize they have overhead, but wow....

I suggest every one of you seek out Facebook and see if there are any local vape groups for your state. After finding a Michigan group, I discovered like 10 B&M's in my area that I knew nothing about and my experiences so far have been top notch. One B&M owner has even delivered to my house because his shop is like 10 miles away and he lives close to me.

Today I had to drop off my daughter's car at the dealership to get some work done on it. While I was waiting, they gave me a loaner and rather than drive home just to drive back later, I decided to stop in a store I passed. The name of the store was Cosmic something (I don't recall), but I did notice "e-cigs" listed on the outside sign. The store was a total disappointment. Tie dye, incense, glass pipes and hookahs and other smoking accessories. The only e-cig related items they carried was they had one small counter display that held a bunch of e-juices from one brand (don't remember the name but the label had a pirate on it). The bottles were all small 10 ml bottles selling for $9.99 each. What is really disappointing is that a lot of the misinformed public will associate vaping with that type of subculture. And that hurts the legitimacy of the community.

Well I guess I don't have to check that one out now:laugh:

You get good and bad at whichever way you go.

I have had very few good experiences with B + M stores. Twice I have gone into places and thought at first that I had lucked into a great spot, but while still learning, I am a potential target for each store owner.
The learning curve on Vaping i have found to be so great that its almost impossible not to be for you have to put your trust in somewhere.

On the other hand, once i know what I am doing, at that particular level, I find buying online to be the easiest as i can buy what i want, not have to deal with anyoen tryign to sell me something else that is more expensive, simply for the sake that it is and hopefully if you have enough gear, you dont mind waiting 2 weeks if it takes tat long for once it arrives, something else will be coming the following week or two anyhow :)

I DO agree with Oberon75 that has suggested you look online at Facebook for Vaping Groups in your area. You will usually find many a store, as well as great groups where people are trading or selling their gear at reasonable prices. Quite often new, used one day and perhaps it just didnt turn out to be that persons new love but it might be yours.

The only downside i have found to FB groups is that often you cant ask a question without being hit by 30 different people who are there only to sell you something and dont care at all for what it is you need and will lie and answer whatever it is you want to hear, simply so they can sell you something.
There are also unfortunately rip off artists that will ship and have done so many a time without problems but perhaps what you dont know is 30% of the time they dont ship out what they say they are going to...LOL

Fortunately I have not fallen for those ones but have seen others do so :(

My biggest problem with FB groups is that they usually all, at least in my experience, attempt to make any Vapers that want to buy from FT or other discount spots, feel guilty for doing so.

I for one am tired of the Vape store owners that have all opened up stores 6 weeks after they discovered Vaping and feel they are now entitled to own a store. That on its own is fine but too many feel as if I and every last one of you owe it to them to keep them in business.
Dare i mention buying something at FT and I hear the damn speech about how you need to keep the business in Canada, or in the case here for many, the US.
The one i dispise the most is when I see them telling people that they owe it to B + M stores to buy from them since they are a member of this group and asking questions..LOL

Whatever happened to opening up a business and being successful because you practised great customer service or you offered competitive pricing? Opening up a Vape store today, you better be prepared for the fact that there are a whole new world full of buyers that do buy online and know how to get their goods at a better price.
None of these store owners are paying my rent but seem to feel we owe it to them to pay theirs.
That mentality will surely mean I wont frequent your store at al.

I now buy from one store here in Toronto and the fellow there is great. Hes bee Vaping since 2004. Sighs, I wasnt even ware of this until 2 years ago so I cant even imagine WHERE he got one from in 2004? ;)

But this fellow is very passionate and he cares about his hardware and what he sells to people and when you have someone that great, that passionate, then usually the money will follow.
But dont expect people to buy your 1-2 year old goods you werent able to sell and now charge top dollar for to all newbies and then turn around and give any of us a speech about owing it to our country to buy from a store and not China, for example.

So not enjoying that angle of B + M stores, I have found that many of the FB groups are full of owners and all others looking to sell whatever they can grab from people asking simple questions. Ask someone what you think of, oh lets say a certain brand of tank and I can promise you that every one selling said tanks will be on top of you instantly trying to direct your busines their way. Then you have all the ones that dont have stores but who pick up deals here and there and want to flip them for cash and they too will be on you like crazy glue :p

It seems like shops pop up every weekend around here, and they're MOSTLY "lounges" aka jobless 18 year olds blowing clouds and their employee friend giving them free stuff. I got a coupon in the mail for a new shop, buy one get one on all house juice. Figured I'd go get some cheap juice at least. They are actually run like a business, clean floors, no couches or dogs, just a few display cases and two employees. House juices are $6 for 18ml, $16 for 50ml, and they're pretty decent. Most of their prices are reasonable, like a Plume Veil v1.5 clone for ~$15, eleaf stuff for about $5 higher than online prices, but then there's a clearance priced MVP 2.0 for $89.95! Lmao so definitely worth it on some stuff, not at all on others. Haven't been to any other shop since I went there though.

I wish people would stop lumping in head shops and smoke shops with true e-cig B&M stores and making mean threads about their experience (thankfully this post was not one of them).

Trust me, if you're in a head shop or a smoke shop that sells (typically junk) e-cig merch, you'll know it. A true B&M that has their blank together is an entirely different experience.

Also, if you're new, try to seek out or ask around your vaping friends for a store that caters to new users. A lot of these shops popping up are geared strictly to the high-end rebuildable crowd, and have an almost "club house" feel to them. If you're over 35 and you don't speak hipster, have massive ear gauges, tattoos, piercings, or a (I'm getting sick of these) hipster beard, and you come in asking for a "starter kit", you'll get eyes rolled at you and they have to stop having fun and actually do some work. If you're new and get that feeling, get out of there, quick. Find someplace else.

Hopefully you can find a store near you that has experienced vapers (preferably, those people who started vaping before the whole sub-ohm RDA craze started), who aren't all condescending hipsters that constantly drip and fog up their entire store. Honestly, the majority of those people never even smoked cigarettes to begin with. Now, something else, maybe, yeah. Don't let them discourage you, though.

Luckily the group that I belong to, Michigan Vapors Club have admins who regularly moderate and keep everything very legit. They also have policies in place like not being allowed to sell or trade without an admins approval first.

They have over 2000 members now but for the most part, they are a very tight knit group. The regular vapors, store owners and employees are all very good friends.

Just yesterday I bought this authentic Aelous from one of the store owners. It was one of his own personal attys because he wanted me to have the best he could offer. It was very lightly used and he could have very easily passed it off as new and sold it at full price. He only charged me $65. I also bought a bottle of juice he lowered the price on for $14 and then threw in a free 30ml bottle of their own juice they were using for samples as I was leaving the store. It was still mostly full. I've been dripping it most of the day today.

And it's best not to buy online whenever possible. Now I'll always but the majority of my juice online because the annual price difference is thousands of dollars but that also allows me to buy nice high quality gear from the B&M. In the past month I've purchased a HANA V4D and an Aeolus RDA and I'm currently eyeballing an authentic Tugboat V2.

Here is why we should all be supporting our local shops over online. Whenever some local politician tries to heavily tax or restrict your vaping right, its these B&M owners, employees and local juice companies who are down at city hall, your county building or state capital, putting up the fight to protect your right to vape.

I just found a fantastic B&M literally 1.2 miles from my apartment and they've got authentics and clones, no lame hipsters hanging around and decently priced juices. The people that work there actually know what they're talking about and are super helpful. South Georgia Vapor in Tallahassee, FL. I actually just needed some cotton and ended up buying a Freakshow, 20ml of juice, 20ft of kanthal and a lot of cotton for $48. He cut me a deal because that was all I had in my wallet lol. But it took me a while to find a decent local brick and mortar. I usually just order on the internet, but I do get tired of not having a place to call if I have issues with a device. They make their own juices too and have some max vg stuff that is awesome. I think there max VG flavors are like $21 for 50ml? Definitely cheaper than a lot of stuff you find online.
