Been vaping for a month now, and loving every moment of it. Since I would go through a half carton of analogues every two days before starting to vape, I still get a bit of the craving for it every little while, but I'm working through it. I live in the Toronto area, and I'm using a Joye 510; already have the feeling like I will be switching to an eGo or something with a longer battery life within the next two months or so.
I find myself chain-vaping, but at least now there's not all that analogue junk going into my system as when I was chain-smoking.

WELCOME AND CONGRATS

It's great that you made the transition to e-cigs. There's a lot of info on this forum and maybe later on. You will dive into getting a mod. Which will give you more battery time and better vaping experience.

Since you already have your required amount of posts. You should also check out the Canadian forum for information on where to get supplies and such locally:

Welcome!!

That chain vaping will taper off over time. You'll be fine!!

Have a god stay at ECF!

No Newbie intro is BORING ! Welcome and Congrats !

I always enjoy seeing new people getting on the vaping bandwagon, over 3 years for me and 2yrs, 5 mos., without an analog and no cravings at all anymore, so believe it can happen. Vaping is one of the greatest adventures of my life !

Good luck and like another said, try the Canadian forums, lots of great folks there !

I'm using 24mg at the moment, as it's the highest the local supplier has to offer. Lol.
I find I'll dip into the analogs if they're around. When I'm far away from them, no problem at all.
I definitely have a lot of interest in mods. I went with the 510 as my first PV since it was light, and easy to handle to transition over. I'll probably get an ego to tide me over until I find a nice mod that won't be such a jump.
Thanks DaveP, that's a great link. I personally love nicotine, and if they could find what kills the MAO B enzyme, and put it into a PV, I'd be set for life. Lol.
Thank you everyone for the very warm welcome. :)

Go for it with the mod! There are some for sale by suppliers here that are reasonable and I've had great experience on the classies. It's a much more relaxed vape for me as I dont need to think about it. It's actually more convenient that an analog stinky.

Watching someone save their own life is never boring. It's why we keep coming back, keep supporting each other and continue to grow as a community. I love watching how this is actually saving more and more lives each day. Also kudos to Dave P on an interesting article about the effect of chemicals in analogs and their effect on the brain.

I quit smoking decades ago and went nuts trying to keep my self occupied. I would sit in a restaurant wanting to smoke and tear up straw wrappers, fold napkins, tap my fingers on the table, and tap my feet (not all at the same time, lol).

Ecigs give you something to do that satisfies the hand to mouth urge and also satisfies the nicotine craving. What it doesn't completely satisfy is the need for calm like the monoamine oxidase inhibitors in tobacco.

There are some people on ECF who are experimenting with tobacco extracts that still supposedly contain the MAOI component. The users say it is significantly better at controlling the cravings. I haven't tried it. I'm just repeating what I have read in the threads.

I just got my hands on a usb passthrough, and it has completely removed my want for analogues. Usually when I was waiting for my batteries to charge, I would grab an analogue, and puff away until the charging was done. Now, since I spend most of my time chained to a desk, the passthrough has destroyed any need to do so. It has hardly left my hand the whole time I've had it.
