ANOTHER BOX OF ALTOIDS. and need help with a mechanical idea

OK. 6 weeks or so ago i decided i had to have a mod. the 808 kit i had for a month was just not holding up to my habit. after seeing an altoid mod video i decide that was the way to go. having a 3A box on hand i built my mod in it, except for the fire switch. i cut an oversize hole in the tin for the atty/carto and another in the bottom of the tin to access the master switch. then pop riveted the battery box inside 3/4" from the a/c hole to protect my clearos from my clutsyness. this has worked very well for me to carry in shirt pocket.

now. i am search for a way to build a box with a sliding 510 connector to fully retract inside for hip pocket transport. as a woodworker i have built adjustable jigs but the parts are way to big. dont want 1/4" wingnut gouging my a..., uh, hip. the next idea was something like the adjustable breakaway throwaway box cutters wth detents. looking at one a havent figured out how to make this work.

YOU GUYS ARE THE GREATEST....WHAT U GOT TO HELP?

Probably be much easier to make a pivoting connector that can fold in and out of the box. Para made an external one, Darwin style.

A sliding atty connector will need flexible wires. Since the altoid box is longer than the atty/carto how about a stub of a 510 battery tube wired in, a carto attached, and a guide tube mounted in the box made of plexi or copper? A solder or epoxy bump on the battery stub would keep it from coming all the way out. The guide tube would only be long enough to stabilize (maybe an inch?) the carto when extended.

Ive been toying with a similar idea for almost a year but I can't seem to find a good way to prevent juice from leaking out of the atty and all over the inside. Maybe an internal drip shield...?
