Ok, need to alleviate confoosion...

What is the difference between "drip" and "tank" style? I am starting to venture into the liquids, and I do prefer the KR808D-1 battery style because it looks a little less like drug paraphernalia than the big fat batteries. (I live and drive in LA, one can't be too careful..)

What kind of 'drip' or 'tank' pieces fit with KR808D-1 batteries?

Do all e-cig liquids work? (For example, if I buy a custom blend from my local vaporie, will it be OK to use in a branded tank?)

The devices work by heating eliquid in a wick wrapped in wire (the coil). The battery heats the coil, thus vaporizing the liquid contained within. The wick needs constantly fed or it will run dry.

A tank is an eliquid container with a built in way of keeping the wick soaked. Some have the wicks at the bottom so they're constantly drenched, and some have wicks dangling into the liquid from the top.

A dripper has a similar wick/coil set-up, but doesn't have the tank to feed it. Therefore you need to drip a few drops of juice directly onto the coil itself. Some drippers have a little "well" so they hold maybe 10-20 drops of juice.

Both come in many guises and from many manufacturers. The drippers are known to produce better flavor, but obviously are a bit higher maintenance.

There is lots more to it than I've tried to describe, but that's the basics.

If you are going with cig-a-like kr8s, you won't want to put a tank on it - tanks are big! Rebuildable drippers are possible(with adapters) - some of them are pretty small - but it takes practice and patience to get the coil-building process down. Best things for 808s are cartomizers (there are lots of brands: IkenVape, Boge, Kanger, etc.), or 901 atomizers for dripping (again - many vendors). I'd recommend starting with SR cartomizers and maybe an SR atty or two for testing flavors. Plus a drip shield and drip tip.
If you must have a tank, then a slim carto tank with SR punched single coil cartos are probably your best bet.
Adapters are available if you want to branch out into the 510 world. 306 attys are worth trying if you find you prefer attys to cartos.

eta: Didn't think of this, because I never use them - but there are various clearomizers you might try (with adapters), such as the mini vivi nova. You're going to want something as thin as possible for the little kr8s!

Boge makes an 808 carto, Iken makes awesome 808 cartos.., I am pretty sure halo sells an 808 mini tank (clearo)... But, everyone else has said what is needed..

et: I forgot cig easy sells a decent 808 clearo.

CigEasy also has a nice battery between the cig-a-like size and ego size. I can't remember the name... elite 808?
