Hey all. New to vaping but really like it so far. Never smoked regularly due to personal reasons, but it reached a point where I was gonna get nic into my system one way or another (combination stress and mental illness getting to me, good stuff), so I tried a convenience store Vuse and then ordered Halo's on the go starter kit and I like it quite a lot. I really liked the Vuse, but the high level of nic has me worried (I was visiting a doctor repeatedly at the time for something unrelated, and when I started the Vuse my blood sugar shot waaaay the hell up to the point where they called me to ask me what was going on; diabetes runs in the family so I'm a little wary of that (I'm not diabetic myself....yet).)

Joining the forum to learn what I can and stay educated on what's up with the vape community and science and all that. Not super worried about it, but hey education doesn't hurt.

My main question right now is if there's something similar to the Vuse original flavor, that I could get in a 18mg concentration, or thereabouts, and use with my Halo G6 battery. Right now I'm vaping the Tribeca flavor that the G6 came with, but I'm really not crazy about it. I liked it at first but now, as I told my girlfriend so eloquently, it tastes kinda like ..... I don't know if you can become, like, desensitized to flavors and need to switch it up? Still pull on the Vuse once in a while and I never get sick of that one; girl loves it too. Suggestions? Thinking I'll order Halo's tobacco sample pack next payday unless someone has something better to offer.

Thanks!

Ed

A common issue that occurs to many vapors is something called vaper's tongue. This is caused by either damaged taste buds from years of smoking, or from vaping the same flavor continuously.

I vape up to 3 - 4 flavors a day sometimes. Variety is good.

Ed, I hate to upset you here.... but I'm going to say a few things.

I can see you are not a heavy/committed smoker and appreciate the situation but please don't throw any more money at these companies (particularly Vuse as they are a scheming evil tobacco company) and Halo G6 is long since surpassed as a serious and decent value-for-money product.

I spent $800 on less than $250-worth of hardware and liquids. Please don't do the same.

If you like the form factor (i.e. a cig-a-like) and get enough Nicotine, then stick with that but look into generic China-branded hardware (Joyetech, Kanger, Innokin) not premium products which aren't premium at all except in the minds of the marketing men.

It's fairly common to have a positive and lasting appreciation of the first e-liquid we try. The cig-a-like manufacturers go to great lengths to find the most universally enjoyed flavor. I looked to replace my first flavor for months, maybe even a year. In the end, I came to the conclusion I would never find it and started to enjoy new flavors. I did actually stumble across the real flavor two years later by which time I understood the connection we make. The moment we/I see the potential of vaping, we associate the flavor with a life-changing discovery.

I detest Vuse (and Vype, Blu, Greensmoke) because tobacco companies will happily see the end of open system products and non-tobacco-company competition. Blu (UK) are the most evil as they supported the government in the excessive regulation of the market.

I don't much like Halo as I don't think we need these big brands anymore... their sky-high prices and marketing BS. There are better juices and better companies and your wallet will thank you.

When your blood sugar 'shot up', did you inform your doctor that you are ingesting nicotine?
The 24mg/ml means little due to the poor delivery of the Vuse cigalike..

Yup. I can vape a 30mg cig-a-like and barely notice. I've even vaped a 48mg.

We have a cig-a-like PoS called "Vype" in the UK. It vapes at a truly pathetic 4.0 watts....
These tobacco company people actually think this is providing satisfaction.... or maybe they know it won't provide much satisfaction and just want the $$.

We have diabetes in our family. Blood sugar levels are reputed (proven, even?) to rise a little with Nicotine in the system... but if you are already using Nicotine (smoking) then vaping creates much lower levels of Nicotine in the system.

I stopped using tobacco flavor after my 2nd week, when I ran out. I changed to the other flavors without the tobacco flavor in them. Last time I tried a tobacco flavor it was so horrible i gave it away. Besides, it was nothing like the taste of cigarette smoke, so wasn't worth using. I think in the end, completely separating from "tobacco" flavor or otherwise has helped me get off tobacco usage, like cut the ties completely..

There are a lot of easy tank style kits you can get, and you can easily pick up ejuice with various amounts of nicotine. I vape on 3mg (but I use a drip atomizer) and even that is getting to strong. My DIY juice i make at 3mg or 2 mg and will eventually drop that down.
