Another new guy...

Hi all!

I am a 15+year smoker that hasn't had a cigarette in almost a month! I am totally hooked on vaping and feel so much better for it.

This has however become a major hobby and completely confusing to me. I first got a vision spinner 1300mah battery with an ismoka bcc mega and 5 juices, some Dekang and some Alice in Vapeland. I have since added a Sigelei #61 mech mod and a ZMAX V5 but haven't sourced and good AW IMR batteries yet. I have a Grand Vapor Trident that I built up with 2 coils, but have yet to make use of it since it it such a low resistance atty.

I have burned a few coils in the bcc mega tank, gotten Smok DCT Pyrex tank running at 2 ohm(somewhat too airy for me) , but running my spinner at 4+ volts really eats the battery up. The CE4/5/6 wickless clearos are pretty great for everyday vaping to me, but not up to the big vape I seem to want. I love having big vape clouds... Lol

I am getting and understanding of the voltage and resistance relationship, but I figure it out and then get all confuzzed on another setup.

The selection if flavors available is absolutely amazing, I am a diabetic and try to go for sweet so I don't go for candy and stuff like that. I am close to getting my medication reduced and believe this is a great tool for doing so.

Just wanted to introduce myself. You probably get this all the time, anyone got any tips for the newbie?

Thanks, John

Welcome!! Maybe you'd like more VG in your juice if you like big cloud of vapor. I agree, don't go buying everything or you'll go broke quickly. Buy one thing, try it out and if you like it get more. I've bought in bulk before trying things, found out I don't like them and am stuck with stuff I'm not going to use. Juice samplers are more expensive but cheaper in the long run for trying new juices.

Welcome aeromech to ECF,
Congrats on going analog less.
Yes it will be a major $$$ hobby, but healthier in the long run.
Confused about something, ask here, someone has the answer or the direction to go.
Biggest tip, (living with a diabetic, also new to vaping) stay hydrated. She also has found a higher VG level does the clouds, and cuts the sweet tooth

welcome!

I would rather spend a lot of money on that "one" sweet mod/setup then little money on a bunch of mediocre stuff...

If that makes sense at all

good luck friend

It does, but is too subjective at this point especially in the early stages. Each gear and delivery device act differently and give different experiences to different users. I'm not saying spend a bunch on mediocre stuff, but work your way into the "sweet mod/setup " you want. You don't know what that is yet so using a middle ground setup first, and then deciding what limitations you want to change and finding the gear to match that.

You don't go buy a ferrari for your first car, because you don't know how to even use the potential of it.

Buy good gear that fits your needs at the time, as your needs evolve find the gear you want to match that. Jumping the gun leads to more confusion and frustration.

The short of it, I don't think there is one "perfect" setup that works with everyone.

Just don't go off and buy everything you see!

Buy one (tank for example) and give it a good chance. You will love it one you get the ins and outs of using it.

Welcome and good luck.

I wish it were that easy with me being a flavor hound and a freaking impulse buyer...haha

BUT, I did get my hand on a Kanger Protank 2 and have enjoyed it completely on my Vision Spinner. Then again....Tmart, Seducejuice.com, Madvapes, Fasttech.....have gotten my money and I need to hide my credit cards...lol

Its fun fiddling with making coils and such too, just need to get a better handle on how many wraps to use for my target resistance.

Happy vaping!!
