Hi all! Been lurking for the last few days and reading until my eyes almost bled out of my head, trying to absorb as much information as possible before whipping the credit card out.

Before finding this forum, I placed an order through Greensmoke for their 'cigalikes', and have been using them for the last 3 days (haven't touched an analog since I started); however, their shortcomings quickly became evident (very short battery life, vapor production, cost, etc.) and I started looking for better alternatives.

So after doing a lot of reading here (what a great resource!), I just finished placing an order for an eGo-C Twist 1100 kit (2 batts, a Vivi Nova tank, a few CE4 clearos), a 650 mAh pass-through and a 350 mAh Mini, along with chargers and a few different e-liquid flavors to try out. I can already see what people are talking about when they refer to a 'habit' becoming a 'hobby'! Regardless of how long it takes to recoup the cost vs. analogs, it feels good to be off them and I'm really looking forward to vaping rather than smoking (been a 1.5 PAD smoker for the last 20+ years).

Hi and welcome!

Are Green Smoke all you have vaped?
Thanks for the welcome! Yes, they're all I've vaped so far other than briefly trying nJoy disposables and some other cheap 'cigalike' kit a couple years ago. The Greensmokes have been enough to keep me off analogs so far, but I'm already tired of the constant battery charging and carto changing.

Welcome to ECF. You will like it here. Lots to read and lots to learn. One suggestion for you. If you are going to be trying juices with cinnamon or citrus type flavors you may want to look into something that has a glass tank like the Kanger ProTank. Those types of juices can crack or damage a plastic tank. There are threads about this and Ocelot who has already posted here has written about atomizers and I believe the tank cracking phenomonon. You will enjoy the Twist.

Oh, are you in for some fun! You should take a video of your first "real" vape. I was looking for an e-cig to play with (and I mean play, I thought they were a gimmick) and Green Smoke was the name that came up when I searched for the highest rated e-cigarette or whatever. I'd never heard of vaping.

I got my Green Smoke kit and stopped smoking the first time I tried one. The Green Smoke people made a bad mistake though. I ordered menthol and they sent me regular tobacco. I'd probably still be using them if they hadn't made that error. The tobacco wasn't bad, it's all I had while I waited for the menthol to arrive, but it seemed to have an almost coconut flavor to it. Hmmm, I hmmm'd to myself, Green Smoke has chocolate and strawberry, I wonder if there is a company that makes a coconut flavor? Google...google...google. OMG!

I sent the Green Smoke kit back, tided myself over with a gas station cig-a-like, and paced until I got my 650mAh eGo kit with a cartridge/atty system (very new then, laughably primitive now). My mind was blown! Utterly gone! Eyes the size of dinner plates! Of course it's been a learning curve, but those first plumes were so much more than I expected.

Thanks, Shari! Yes, I had already read some threads about the plastic tanks being damaged by certain flavors - so much to learn, and thanks to all the great information in these forums I'm hoping I can minimize resorting to the 'trial and error' method as much as possible!

You might want to bookmark this for when you get over some of the information overload you are likely experiencing. It's my blog about juices and tanks:

Thanks a million, Ocelot! As it happens, Cherry Cola was one of the flavors I ordered, as well as Amaretto and Orange Cream - all of which look like they may not be good for a plastic tank. You probably just saved me my first 'trial and error' mistake, thanks again!
