Hello Vapers!

I've been stalking these boards with great interest for many weeks. I've read, agonized over the choices, read some more and agonized over the decision. The more I learned about e-cigs and vaping it sounded too good to be true.

So, Tonight I took the plunge!!

You guys have been the best resource for learning about e-cigs and you are all so supportive. I know I found the right people to guide me and I really can't wait to get started.

At $8.00 a pack, it's just become ridiculously stupid to continue analogs! I've tried every way known to man, yet I can't quit. Bottom line, I enjoy smoking, I'm as addicted to nicotine as they come, physically and psychologically. The e-cig is just so appealing on so many levels, and it also seems like it's going to be fun.

I am prepared for the "learning curve".

I ordered the Joye 510 (starter kit with PCC) from Cignot with a couple of small extra things.

After scouring the boards here, I decided on the Joye 510 from Cignot. I went for the kit with the PCC because people say it's a "must have" if I'm going to be vaping while out and about. The 510 reviews were great, and I thought the price from Cignot, coupled with their reputation was unbeatable.

The kit came with my choice of 2 bottles of juice. I settled on PG Cappuccino 5ml 26mg and ECOpure 3ml, Menthol, 25mg Nicotine. I added PG Double Mint 26mg 5ml, PG Chocolate 26mg 5ml and a pack of pre-filled menthol carts 18mg.

My questions:

1. From what I've read, the pre-filled carts that come with the kit are regular tobacco flavored, is that right?
2. Is 26mg nic-juice going to be more nicotine than I'm getting per drag or cigarette from my analogs - meaning - is it going to be strong or increase my nicotine intake?
3. Can I really refill the pre-filled carts? Top them off? Wash them out and reuse them?
4. What did I not consider purchasing? Did I leave anything out that I'm going to have to order right away?
5. If I want to mod one of the carts - say the "spring mod", PTB or Blue Foam - is that possible with the carts I'll have once my order arrives?
6. The PCC comes with a USB charger, does it also plug into a regular outlet? If not, I'm assuming I can use the USB wall charger that I use for my iPod with the cord included with the PCC? If that's true, I can also charge the PCC in my car with the USB charge adapter that plugs into the cigarette lighter?

The appeal of the e-cig goes beyond just vaping as I have a feeling that the new rituals incorporated and developed when vaping will become part of the overall positive experience.

I think you guys are such amazing, helpful and supportive people. I hope to become a positive member of your community!

Thank you in advance for any advice, feedback, comments you can offer regarding my first purchase and plunge into the wonderful world of vaping.

Now I anxiously wait for my first order to arrive!

Regards, and glad to meet you all!
Remie

I would find somewhere like Nhaler where you can get a sampler pack of juices, also try something lower, 26mg 'might' be a bit heavy for you. It was for me lol.

Good choice on the e-cig, it's always good to start off with something decent, you might wanna order one of the mega batterys for it as the regular batterys life is pretty bad.

Wow - you guys are quick! :) I wanted a "sampler" of decent juice, but I wasn't sure where I should order from. I also thought the 26mg might be too much, but at cignot it was the only option, other than ordering more pre-filled at 18mg.

Madvapes and Nhaler... going to go check those out. I'm thinking I should order juice ASAP, as what I will receive with my initial kit won't last long?
And - I can refill the existing carts I receive? Or, should I order blank/empty carts as well?

Thanks so much for the speedy reply!!!

You can call it that. I didn't care for them and got much better tobacco flavor from 555.

IMHO the starter kit is all you need. I went out and bought a PCC and 2 Mega Batteries. Both were not needed. The regular manual battery lasts for 2 days before I have to swap it out. I am always near power of some kind, so the PCC wasn't really a "must have" for me. YMMV of course.

The PCC came with only a USB plug-in. I imagine your adapters would work with it tho. Wish you all the best when you order arrives and I hope it works as well for you as it did for me.

I ordered my kit too a day or so ago - I didn't get the PCC (many people here have said they bought one and didn't need it so I;m hoping I wont eithre - I don't go out much lol) - but I did get the USB PT and some prefilled carts - and I think one juice sample again all from cignot as you did. I got the capuccino ones because I love capuccino and smoking so I thought maybe combined it might satisfy two urges in one!

Thanks everyone! I feel much better about my first purchase - and I learned everything from all of you! My order shipped out this morning, so now I will stalk the mail-guy until my package arrives. I can't wait to get started!

haha! captJay - I ordered cappuccino juice too! I ordered some pre-filled just because they were the same price as the blanks - might as well try them, then have them around to refill.

Good Luck to both of us! I keep saying this, and I will say it again - I am SO sick and tired of smoking, feeling like crap from smoking, but smoking anyway!

I am determined to make this work!

I ordered the same thing and from Cignot. It should be here tomorrow (crossing fingers). Then I ordered juice from NHaler (it arrived today) and StrictlyEJuice.

Somewhere on this site is a thread about a diabetic case from caselogic.com that works great for storing PV stuff...so I ordered one of those, too! LOL

I'm so excited that I finally may be able to get off the analogs and a side benefit is meeting new friends here and having a new hobby.

Congratulations!

You too GoodDog!

Wow - I actually have 2 of those glucose meter zippy-cases! What a great idea - thanks!! I will use one of them to assemble my "kit" when it arrives.

I may even have a few more of them stuffed into junk drawers. (drug companies hand those meters out like candy canes at Christmas - I may even be able to grab a few more from the drug reps) I wish I'd known - I would have sent you one instead of you having to pay for it! Curious to know how much they charged you for that free item? :)

It looks like there are quite a few of us starting this at the same time- good for us - and I totally agree that meeting new friends is a big bonus and side benefit to quitting the stinky-sticks!

I'm quite the crafty knitter and a fiber-snob - hrrrm - I bet it would take no time at all to design and knit up a few "kit bags" from durable organic materials like hemp, cotton, silk blends, etc... You got my wheels spinning by mentioning that "glucose meter" zippy-case :D

I know everyone here is SO supportive and encouraging. I feel comfortable and at home here, and that will make my new entry into vaping that much better. Knowing we can support each other, seek solutions to problems and just lean on each other if we hit a rough patch - wow - how awesome!

I dont find the pcc nearly as usefull as a usb passthrough..
the usb passthrough with the inline battery...sure it keeps you "teathered" but the battery lasts double the actual manual battery (and it doesn't have to be plugged in to use it) but in the car if you cave a car lighter adapter that has a USB port on it it kinda turns your car into a big hookah...then at home it plugs into the computer..that and while it's plugged in theres no drop off in voltage so you get consistantly better vapor production

 Same here - like smoking, don't like cigs - they make me feel ill now (coughing, stuffed nose etc) and its stupid that Im still smoking but Ive never tried to give up because the hand/mouth thing is the thing *I* think will be the hardest habit to break. I'm sure I have a nic addiction too tho my cigs are the lowest nic you can buy, and a high TH is not something I get with them. (Typing this while drinking a capu and smoking btw lol)
I am gonna follow some sound (I think) advice though that I saw here - one day at a time. I'm not going to give up cigarettes except one day at a time. Don't want to set myself up for failure then feel like a sad fool

Thanks Drozd. I hate wasting money on something I won't use when there's so many flavored juices to try!

Cool Remie! I was thinking of doing some beading on something to carry just my Joye 510 in, like a cigar tube??

Here's a picture of the case, but I imagine smaller ones would work well for sticking in our purse.

I saw this on another thread here but couldn't find it, so it's not my idea.

That case does look a little sturdier than the ones that come with the glucose meters. What a great idea though - I am definitely going to use one of the cases I have to hold all my new vaping gear :)

I am now going to go walk down the driveway to the mailbox - I doubt my stuff will be here, it was only shipped out yesterday, but I can dream - right? :p

LOL I've been the same way! Mine should be here today and I've already been out to the mailbox 3 times! :)

Congratulations on making the choice to vape! I hope it brings you the same happiness and improved health that I am benefiting from the past couple of months. If not already mentioned you should read "everything you need to know about the 510" it's a great source on this forum. The only thing I didn't see on you list was a "USB pass through" that is great to vape on while your on the computer. Extra time to keep your batteries charged. Good choice on the PCC IMO you have a back up battery already charged along with an extra atty you may need and couple of extra carts. all in there. Happy vaping! 2 batteries and my pcc keeps me safe for 8 hours easy if I'm not home.

Hey Remie, I've already accumulated quite a bit of PV toys and I'm trying to think of something convenient and nice to keep everything together. The case is good for storing the 510 and a few accessories, but not all the juice and other stuff I want to buy. Let's come up with some ideas for containers that look nice. I want everything handy and not out of reach but I don't want it to show what a compulsive nut I am. LOL Like no one knows!

I thought about one of those hat box type boxes with a handle...Ross and TJ Maxx usually have them. Or a hard, square cosmetic case with a handle?

I betcha someone will start a business with jeweled PVs, wood boxes and other accessories pretty soon. I did buy the case from Cignot for $3.50 but I don't expect much.
