yay go Remie! lol
I agree about the not ordering enough juice - I didn't think they'd go so quickly but then I didnt realise they (and the 510 itself) would be so tiny. I ordered some more and blank carts from Cignot yesterday too and Ill be getting some from tastyvapor too in the next week or so.
I too was on light cigarettes, and I wonder if having such a low tar/nic analogue s the reason the PV satisfies so well. I'm still having the odd one or two (actually 6 yesterday and so far 2 today) but as I used to puff thru a pack to a pack n a half daily this is a wonderful result. I do think we have to be careful about ODing on nic though - especially those of us who were on lights (or Ultra lights in my case) and probably didnt get more than about 24mg per PACK.
I take a couple of puffs on my vape each time - unless Im really feeling the need for 'something' (wish I knew what the something actually WAS..)then I take 4 or 5 puffs before I put it down.

I've been a heavy smoker for many, many years, too, and nothing worked for me the 100 times I tried to quit! I have no doubt that I can do it with this!

LOL I have 2 going just so I don't get one too hot, so yes, I am vaping like mad!!! I've tried a few juices that don't have enough TH for me, but the one that came with my kit, marlboro(?) is good.

I blew out my atty before using it so I didn't have the bad taste. I did get quite a bit of primer (?) out of it.

I want to order some more juice but I want to be sure I get flavors that have a good TH. The vanilla and almond I bought from NHaler and myPVshop don't have much flavor or TH, not nearly as much as the marlboro. Monday I should get my order (10 or 12 sample flavors) from StricklyEJuice, so maybe I'll find some I like better. NHaler's Rootbeer/Chocolate has a lot of flavor.

Can't wait to see what you think of Ms. T's juice.

Hello to you all. I have been lurking the boards for a little while trying to get educated. Before Christmas, I dropped a load of cash down on a 901 in the mall. I have been alternating between the PV and Hav-a-Tampa Jewels since then. I have been a smoker on and off since I was 17, now 49. 4 years ago, I switched to cigars from Marlboro Lights, thinking they wouldn't be as bad. Wrong

I just ordered the 510 starter kit from Cignot last night and received email conformation of shipment today. How awesome is that? I opted for the double kit with PT. I have noticed with the 901 that the batts don't last but only a couple of hours of light vaping.

I am hoping that I don't have to continue to drop megabucks on cigars. They are costing me about 70 cents each and I usually smoke about 10 a day. I have temporarily stopped analogs in the past using patches and Chantix.

Reading everyone's experiences in this forum has given me renewed courage in my quest to quit tobacco forever. Both of my parents are on home oxygen from years of smoking. I was the only child of 4 to take the habit and it seems that my life is being controlled by smoking.

Thanks again to everyone for their personal experiences and opinions on vaping. I can't get over how much information is available on this forum. The FDA need only spend a few hours reading all these posts to realize this is a healthful alternative to analogs .

I ordered my 510 from cignot and when I tried the marlboro 18mg carts that came with it they worked good for the first vape after that nothing so I read the manual and thats all thats in them is 1 vape. They had an excellent price and quick shipping but don't order their vg it's terrible. The rest of their stuff is great and good people too.

Exactly, CaptJay! You put what I've been feeling into the exact words. I have been craving Something!! It's not exactly the Newport, it's not the hand to mouth, blowing out smoke, smoke rings... act of smoking - it's just something!

What the heck is it? It's not strong enough to make me want a real ciggie (yet), and I've been doing the same thing. When I get that craving I take 4 or 5 puffs before I put it down too.

I wonder if it's in part due to the multitude of *other* chemicals we've been used to all these years?... or - it's just that our primitive brain hasn't quite caught up yet with the logical brain. That is; our smoking triggers become part of the reflexive brain response and even those little things that we've changed, (i.e. the things that make us reach for the pack, reaching for the pack, flicking the lighter, tapping the ash, etc.)

Whatever it is - it's interesting and reassuring that someone else is feeling that same thing!

Really? Wow, very strange! I rinsed one out to refill with something else. Out of curiosity I squeezed the filler material onto a paper towel and there was quite a bit of liquid in there! More liquid that I'd have thought. How on earth can they only put "1 vape" in a pre-filled cart? The amount of a draw has to be so variable I can't even imagine how it could be calculated. Also, if it's only "1 vape" per pre-filled cart - what is the rest of the liquid? Logic tells me that "1 vape" would mean a pretty dry cart.

Personally, I think the pre-filled carts might work OK for me. I have some 18mg menthol pre-filled that I haven't tried yet. I just didn't like the taste of the "non-menthol" regular tobacco.

I do agree about cignot though. I will certainly not hesitate to order from them again!

GoodDog I happen to have enough posts now to display links :) so here it is:

Ms Ts Bakery Essentials

I just filled a cart with double mint - too funny ... I didn't think to perhaps only squeeze out half of the marlboro prefilled, and add the mint to it! What a great idea, thanks! I'm going to try that!

I have to figure out when to know when my cart is low/empty - arrgh - the taste of an empty cart is rather vile! 8-o

I have a cart filled with cappuccino, but I haven't tried it yet. I need the menthol/mint right now for some reason! Probably because I'm still craving the occasional analog, and the menthol really stops the slight craving.

Welcome JavaDude! I too have tried everything, including Chantix (I quit for 8 months using it) - and I have to say - although I am less than one day into this "vaping" thing, I honestly believe that this is going to be my magic-bullet. It's working so far, and I am really enjoying it! Keep us posted and let us know how how you like your 510.

(oh, I happen to totally agree RE: FDA :) )

Thanks for the link. OMG the flavors sound soooo good! I'm starting WW on Thursday so I'll have to get plenty of flavors to help my cravings, huh?

The straw mod does work really good. I'm a bit concerned about the blue foam but I've been looking for Pyramid Tea - not easy to find though.

Yesterday I went to Ross and bought a cool cloth-like box with a handle. I put some of those plastic containers that snap on all four sides from Dollar Tree inside to fit all my goodies. It works out well and everything is handy. I need something to carry in my purse that won't get messed up and will hold an extra cart and battery. I saw some nice e-cig cases on sale for $3 but now I can't find the site. :( I've been on this computer too long - a bit obsessive with my new hobby? Nah, not me! LOL

Here are the cases. I just had to have...two! :) They also have some good prices on juice so I bought a couple to try. I need to keep track of how much I'm spending but it has to be cheaper than analogs! Besides it's a pretty cheap hobby considering what some can cost.

I'm hooked the capucino I got from cignot - I got a vg juice of it as well  so I jsut top the carts up with that. I get many vapes off my pre-filleds tho - not just one. Though maybe I'm misunderstanding waht you mean by 'one vape'.
Remie - yeah its not the nic - its definately something OTHER than that I jsut have no idea what (its also not the act of smoking cos these PVs solve that, the ash-tap part = putting cig down for me) - must be a chemical not present in PVs or ejuice.

I just started vaping 2 weeks ago and have not had a real ciggy since new years eve :) I have spent quite a bit of money but I have ordered juice from 4 different places to try to find something I like and can vape all day. I order the 8-12mg liquids because I seem to vape more often then I smoked I think it is because I never smoked in my car or my home so now that I can vape inside, with out freezing my ... off outside lol, I do it alot more often.

Congratulations Georgie!!! Wow, ten days without an analog!!!

It's easy to get carried away with trying out all the delicious-sounding flavors, huh? Yep, I know that one.

Before I started vaping I had drastically cut down on how many analogs I was smoking. My concern is that I'm going back to being addicted to higher nicotine levels by vaping so much. I've been using 24mg but I think I'll get some 0mg to cut it with as soon as I'm feeling more comfortable with vaping.

My feelings exactly! I admire you for being able to cut down, GD. I was desperate to start the e-cig because over the past year I've driven myself up to over a pack and a half a day. Health concerns go without saying but at $8.00 a pack - omg - when I do the math of the cost per month?

I have 26mg PG (cappuccino, double mint and chocolate - which I've filled a bunch of carts with, even mixing what sounds good together in the same cart), but I am enjoying the 25mg Eco pure (and that one is VG, right?) I am going to go to CVS tomorrow and buy some VG and cut some of my juice with it. I know I may sacrifice some flavor, but for now it's all about the learning curve.

Late last night, sitting here reading and craving that *something* that CaptJay mentioned in an earlier post, I caved and smoked 2 analogs. I am not at all beating myself up about it. I know I have to develop and get used to making this a new routine, and let it become reflexive.

Georgia - wow!! You give me hope! That's great!! I am hoping that next week I can post and say the same thing!!

GoodDog - are you refilling carts? Did you do any mods? Have you figured out when your cart gets low or your battery needs swapping out? I think that is part of what I need to really learn. I love, love, love vaping - but I am not sure what is happening when it starts to taste strong and burned. My cart is low and needs to be filled or swapped out - or my battery is low and needs to be swapped.

I started vaping this morning at about 9:00am on an 18mg pre-filled menthol cart and didn't swap out the battery until about 2:00pm. The battery was not dead, something was just *off* . After I swapped the battery I realized the cart needed topping off, so I put a few drops of 25mg Eco Pure menthol into it - and all was well in the world again.:)

The best part? I have not had an analog yet today!! which is a miracle in itself!! I am proud of myself and very happy!!

I just found out about all this yesterday and bought one immediately. I am sooooo excited!!!!!! I bought the Vapor King UU kit from Vapor4Life. I bought tobacco flavored cartridges to start with because I assume to transition I'm gonna want it to be as much like a cigarette as possible. I quit smoking cigarettes on the first. Main reason I quit is because they cost so much, but I just moved to black and milds. For the past week I've smoked 1-2 cigars a day. That's only $1 or $2 a day instead of $5, but I inhale, so it's not safe for the long run . I saw this and am head over heels in love with the idea of getting nicotine, still being able to enjoy the act of "smoking" and it costing less and being better for my health :hubba:. I hope it's all I expect it to be. I see there is a huge underground culture for "vaping" and everyone seems to love it, so I expect to be a new life long member :D. I love this forum, and will post all my questions and everything here, as well as my reviews. For now though, I have to wait until delivery without losing my mind with excitement...:-x

igaday, congratulations and welcome to the vaping world!!! One good thing is that we are ALL new at this and wanting to make a positive change in our life and habit.

Vapor4Life seems to be a subculture all in of itself and a very supportive group of people.

It's nice that your first post was on this thread and I thinks some great friendships are about to be made!

Remie, I've noticed that when I don't have the same vapor production it either needs to be topped off, refilled or the batteries charged. On my manual 510 the LED flashes when the battery is low and I love that! Did you buy manual or automatic? I REALLY love the manual better than the automatic! Much more control over the amount of vapor. I think because I can heat it up a second before taking a puff. I don't get a bad taste...never have with my 510, but maybe I was so use to the Pure Smoke being YUCK all the time and didn't know the difference.

I bought a package of empty, flat-tipped carts and it helps to not put the PV in my mouth backwards. LOL

I'm using the straw mod for refilling but not sure I'm doing it right because I don't really notice much difference. I've been looking for the Pyramid Tea bags but none of the stores I've been to so far carry it. I may try the blue foam mod but don't quite understand all the different variations and why. There definitely is a learning curve to vaping but it's fun to learn something new!

In the past when I've tried to quit smoking it's been such a nightmare that I refuse to let those bad experiences spill over to this new-found freedom. I spent too many years trying to do everything in life perfectly and I just don't think it matters all that much now that I'm older. I had an analog last night before bed and another one this morning. That's such an incredible improvement that I call it a "win" and refuse to be hard on myself about it. Nobody knows I went back to smoking after quitting this last time so I feel relieved that I can keep my dirty little secret to myself. You wouldn't believe some of the things I did to sneak a cigarette! And I know the stuff I sprayed all over me after having one couldn't have been good for my health! The stress caused me to gain over 20 pounds so now I feel good about starting WW to get it off.

I have no doubt I will tame my cigarette habit with vaping and not feel like a second-class citizenanymore. Even if it means still being addicted to nicotine, that's better than smoking analogs! I seldom have a drink, don't do drugs, and only occasionally have a cup of coffee so if I have one vice so be it. At least it's all in my hands and not big tobacco's!!

Hello Igaday! Congrats on the decision to join the vaping world! :) Today is my first full day of vaping and I am seriously enamored with the entire process! I haven't had an analog yet, and I won't beat myself up if I end up needing/wanting/giving in to the craving.

There is a learning curve for sure, but this is such a welcoming and awesome community, there is always someone right here to answer any questions. Added bonus - what an amazing bunch of people here! I have felt supported from my first post and it just keeps getting better.

Allie - after I read your post I had a huge *Ohhhh!* moment! Since last evening when I got started with my 510 I have been rather neglectful of the fact that it is electronic. I haven't been swapping out the battery nearly often enough, nor have I been paying much attention to the juice in the cart!

I have the manual batteries, and for as many hours as I've been using either of them, they have not blinked or tipped me off that they are in need of charging - they haven't died - the vaping has just gone weak!

At the same time, I realized it's true for the juice in the cart as well. When I became aware that I need to swap the battery, add a few drops to the cart (and atty when I refill or change carts) - renewed flavor, clouds of vapor, and instant reward.

I am doing the "straw mod" and I believe it does give me added vapor. I am not positive though because when I switched to the 18mg pre-filled menthol cart (26mg juice is what I have and I am sucking on this thing like crazy right now - really don't care to get a nic-headache) I am getting really good vapor, satisfying draw TH, etc. Learning curve.

I can't really taste the cappuccino or chocolate (dead taste buds perhaps?) juice, but I can smell it, and it smells good.

Also, I do believe the Double Mint and Eco Pure menthol does leave the atty tasting like mint, so maybe I will clean one tonight and experiment tomorrow with a "dedicated menthol/mint atty".

I have loads of Lipton Tea in the Pyramid bags! If you aren't a tea drinker and don't care to hunt them down in your area, PM me your address - I will send you a bunch, or a box so you can try the mod!

I am pretty happy with the straw mod and pre-filled carts for now as I await Ms. T's to ship my order. I placed the order on Wednesday and I am surprised it still hasn't shipped :( I really hope I don't run out of juice!!

Good going on the WW!! You can do it!! As far as being a closet smoker, I've always been such a rebel without a clue, I really don't care who I have offended with my dirty habit  - and being a musician doesn't help as most people do much worse than smoke cigarettes. I rarely drink, or do anything else - smoking was *my* one awful vice... so I am expecting a lot of people this week to ask me what the heck I'm smoking

Since I am around children (music school) and pleasing the parents/good clean image, etc. is paramount. I won't be using my PV around anyone there!
It is great though, to sit here next to my fireplace puffing my face off - and there is no residual smell, etc.

Learning Curve - hahaha!! I'll get there :D
