altho i do get the feeling that being a newb on THIS particular forum isnt such a bad thing! glad i found this place, and vaping, hello everyone!

so a little about me i guess- ive been a pack a day smoker for 25 years. a friend at work turned me on to the ecigs, i decided one day to give it a try. i bought a FIN disposable instead of my regular pack. it was a little more expensive than a pack of analogs, but said it was equivalent to ~1.5 packs. what the hell. surprisingly, it suited me just fine, i didnt crave, within that one day my lungs stopped hurting, my breathing became easier and more relaxed, i didnt stink to high heaven... sold! i then bought a FIN rechargable starter pack, and 5 carts. FINs are pretty good, i like the flavor, but about 3/4 of the way through the cart, they start tasting bad, hint of burning plastic. i really wanted to check out some new flavors, noticed BLU had several and saw on youtube that they work on FIN batteries. unfortunately they dont sell a variety pack. i gave the classic tobacco a try. again not bad! different flavor, very nice pipe tobacco aroma, they are 100% VG so they lack the TH but they do consistently produce a lot of vape. but i feel like im constantly dragging on them to get a good hit.

but i still feel compelled to find that perfect juice =) i was a pretty heavy smoker, so i want LOTS of smoke and LOTS of flavor. so today, after much deliberation, i bit the bullet and got an eGo-C Twist (1000mAh), 2 Vision eGo Clearomizers, a couple of attys and some juice. here we go! and in browsing this awesome forum, i've found so many vendors selling a dizzying array of products. most recently (from a post in this forum), i found ecblendflavors.com, which im glad to see they sell 5mls of juice for $2.50. my new favorite site =) prices for 15mls are pretty good too!

anyway... when i started posting, i had questions. hmm wonder what they were. =D it was about battery threads, im still a little confused. my ego-c twist is what thread size? and off the shelf micros like BLU are what thread size? and you can get adapters ya? just thinking if i want to quickly try a new flavor, i could refill a BLU cart and not have to worry about cleaning the atty/wick off the tanks.

Thanks all, glad to be here, eager to learn, hope to help other hopeless smokers discover ecigs for themselves.

Hi

Different little "cig-a-likes" like Blu, don't all have the same threading; Blu, however, has 510.

Here's your Twist:

Onion, I would make one recommendation, get one more ego. That way when your ego dies you've got a second one that's charged and ready to go. If you just have one you'll have to wait a few hours while its charging and be poop out of luck! The battery life of an ego compared to a cigalike is quite significant, or so I've been told. :)

Welcome- I just purchased an eGo T starter kit after I lost my other batteries. Someone told me I could use a blue cargo but I haven't tried it yet. I have both 510 and ego clearamizers and they both work well. I use 2 eGo-T 1100mAh. They last about half a day using a 510 threaded AGA-T+.The AGA puts our massive vapor even without a vv battery unit. I thought they would not be that great but I am very impressed so far. Lucy74 is right... Having two is a good idea so at least one will be charged while the other is charging. What is your favorite flavor juice so far?

yes i know i need two! but for right now, $70 is enough to drop in one day, and i'll live with charging the battery overnight. plus i'll see if the 1000mAh is a good size, or maybe something smaller to carry around, some things to consider when buying the second one. i also want to play around with some different tanks, that protank everyone seems to be raving about... but its $20... all the little things were adding up today so i went with 2 cheaper tanks for now. i definitely will get a 2nd batt for sure.

i havent tried any flavors! im really curious about it! thats why im glad to find those cheap 5mls, i dont know why every company doesnt offer that. if you havent noticed, im quite a cheapskate (but appreciate quality), i try to make my dollars work for me. today's $70 is equivalent to 2 weeks of analogs, so this setup needs to last me 2 weeks before i think about spending more. this is sposed to be cheaper than smoking, right? =)

thanks all for the replies- and cool about the thread size.. i was thinking i could pick up a couple of blank 510 cartos, maybe keep em around in case any of the smokers around me were interested in trying it, i could fill em a fresh carto, they could even pick thier flavor from what i have on hand.

OMG, I feel so stupid, but I am desperate. Promise to look around more tomorrow. Just a quick question. I have a store nearby that sells Blu, and I can't smoke for one more day. I read the package, and it is looks like a single e-cig for $10. I plan to research e-cigs fully and on this forum, but can anybody advise a quick, cheap way to try an e-cig? Is Blu ok to try just for convenience sake and because I can't get out to purchase much else right now. I am sick and coughing like crazy (unrelated to smoking), and cigarettes are irritating the cough. I have been planning to quit, and I cut back by 1/2 in the last couple of weeks. I'm under a pack a day. Not only am I new, I am uninformed and have only read a few pages in a few threads. Just hoping to get an answer so I can make it through tomorrow. Then I will be back to read and get some great information from you all. Thanks in advance. Belong to an unrelated forum with the same format, so I will navigate and enter profile information tomorrow. Again, thank you.

ive been somehow surviving with just one FIN rechargable battery! i have to keep the charger with me at all times. im at my computer for most of the day, so if i know i wont be using it for any length of time, onto the charger it goes. a single twist is going to feel like a MAJOR upgrade from where im at! but by the way, great design, having 2 thread types on one unit.

absolutely, get a disposable and try it out. blu is very mellow because its veggie glycerin only, but the tobacco flavor is quite good. if you like it, consider a rechargable kit. the FIN is also good, they sell a kit for $15 at walmart.

Thank you so much. In the middle of severe t-storm and am afraid I will lose power. I live in a small town, and I need to run out first thing in the morning for something, so blu it is.

hopefully you will notice a major difference in your lung function like i did! and ive been a bad boy several times, when the ecig was not immediately available fo whatever reason, i went back to analogs... and after a few days of that, i keep wanting to switch to the vape for good. i know once i get a good setup and some flavors i like, its all over.

good luck, hope ya like it =)

Welcome to VapeWorld! :) Technically, it does save money....unless you're like me and "ooh" and "aah" at all the pretty mods and drop $$ to get them. :) I used a cig-alike for around 3 months before I decided to buy an eGo T and I used that for a month before I bought my first VV/VW mod. The hobby part of vaping (as well as the nicotine) has kept me off the cigarettes. I tried the patch, gum, cold turkey, and nothing helped me cut down and eventually quit until I found vaping. Welcome aboard!

whee my twist is here! im quite happy with it. works too good! and works with my 510 cartys too, bonus!

a little review of my first 3 flavors EVER:

all HighCaliber liquid from MyVaporStore:

1) Fire Cured Tobacco; i read all the reviews, nobody ever said this was TOBASCO flavor. i hate tobasco. =P will not touch it ever.

2) VG blend Smooth Cuban: just ok, im still getting over my disappointment with the 100% VG BLU's... ill let it steep for a while, its not my thing right now.

3) Vanilla Cocoa Mint: dingdingding, we have a winner. QUITE nice. of the 3 i ordered i least expected to like this one, and its the one i like the most. yummy, sweet, minty chocolate deliciousness. next time i will get a barrel of the lower nic version, cause i want to vape it constantly =D

pic attached, im not quite sure yet how to imbed it in the post, ill have to look into that.

and ill have to learn how to change attys on the Vision Clearo, i had to dump that tobasco stuff out, nasty! i just soaked up as much as i could with a paper towel, and filled it back up with mint. =)

::: NEWS FLASH ::: the BLU redeems itself.

so ive been vaping away on the only flavor i got that i can tolerate, the Vanilla Chocolate Mint, and yeah it was getting a little old but i was still enjoying it, and suddenly Vaper's Tongue sets in. cant taste anything! so i scour the forums for a cure (drink water), try some of the wives tales (sniff coffee- so wierd it smelled like bacon!)(eat pickles and olives- hey those still taste good) and finally resign to- got to stop vaping for a while. drink a ton of water. well after a little while, im feeling like i need a fix. and it occurred to me- what about the PG. i know that stuff can be harsh- maybe thats whats causing this. so i have some blu carts still, so i pop one on, and ahhh its smooth, didnt taste like much to begin with but the smell is great. so guess what, im happy. =) the BLUs redeemed themselves, theyre good for something. have to remember to keep a 100% VG juice on hand for times like these.

Happy vaping all.

This can be cheaper than smoking, but it can cost way more if you start shopping all the ejuice sites! When I first started in 2009 there wasn't as much of a choice in hardware or juice as there is now. China had the big sellers and there was always a threat of customs. I bought large qty's of everything since I was placing a order. IT GOT EXPENSIVE. You can keep it simple with Ego systems and a few of the US juice suppliers. It's a buyer friendly market. You still can spend a lot of money if not careful. It can be a addiction! Good luck.
