Another Newb...

A member here posted on another (non e-cig related) forum about her success with e-cigs, & linked to here for more info. I'm so glad she did!!!

I'm at the point where I really need to quit the cigs, not just for my health, but I simply cannot afford it anymore. Our (Australian) government always heavily taxes smokers, & just last week increased prices by 25% Smoking now costs me around $20USD a day!!!

The problem is that I still do enjoy smoking, & the 'actions' that go with it. I have quit for quite long periods 4 times, but I always relapse due to the places I go, things I do, & being around smoker friends.

Although (being in Australia)I haven't seen or even heard much about these e-cigs IRL, I have seen them advertised online in the past, & thought they sounded interesting, & a good alternative for me, only to discover upon reading that they were scams along the same lines as the tooth whitening & acai berry.

I went to the forum you mentioned, & after many hours of reading & research, just placed my first order with V4L (good timing with the coupon code )

Hopefully, my order should arrive this week, & I can quit the analogs! I will let you know how it goes...

Congratulations on your decision!!! Good luck with your personal attempt to switch from analogue to electronic cigarettes. Welcome to the Forum! Glad to have you here and look forward to hearing your story. My own smoking tab of about $5.00/US/day was bad enough, can't imagine 20/day...YUCK! This has been the best decision I ever made. I'm glad you stumbled upon the forum. There's a great bunch of people here. Come on in, pull up a chair, and enjoy! Watch for contests, events, sales, opportunities to give back (pay it forward) and the list goes on! It would take a year, I think, just to read all the wonderful information that is within this site. Once again good luck, welcome, and congrats!

As for editing I think you need a certain amount of posts before you're able to edit, if I remember correctly, but it isn't very many.

I was under the impression that Vaping wasn't allowed in Australia. As in government seizing orders at customs and the like. But I could be totally wrong as I'm in the USA. I know there is a subforum here somewhere just for Australian types. Might want to hunt that down for more info.

I've already read the Aussie forum back to front, just can't post there yet lol. It appears that our law says that you can't sell the nico liquids, being a controlled substance, but it seems that very few have had any problems getting their personal use supplies through customs.

I see that a couple of Aussie sites have popped up offering the e-cigs with 0% liquids, but I of course want the real thing.

I got my shipping notice this morning, so fingers crossed it will be here soon!

Another newbie here, been using the E-ciggy for one week, and have been off analogs for two plus weeks, yaay. Looking at stats for smokers quitting, by one year only 7% will have remained smoke free......that's very disheartening and am hoping the switch to vaping will be the ticket to success for me........

Congrats on finding the E-cigs.
I am another Aussie here which initially found out about Ecigs on Whirlpool. The recent tax increase just seems like blatant revenue raising but it is excellent motivation to do away with the old tobacco product.

Now saving well over $100 a week since vaping and couldn't be any happier!

Totally agree AzzX. This latest taxrise, implemented within hours, without even having gone through parliament was so obviously just a blatant $$ grab. And a very timely diversion from the insulation & other recent government debacles.

Anyway, besides still feeling anger & annoyance for the rest of the Aussie smokers who have not yet discovered E-cigs, I am so happy, excited, & lookin forward to getting my stash - I just KNOW this is going to work for me!!!
